Diggin In The (Online) Crates

“Eeeevn if I stutter I'm a still come off!”

Alright, my favorite music sites are back up. (CDzlimited.net and 2720.net) So in celebration, I will not “hot-link” their music, but have put together a Canhead Must Have list. This is a list of albums you must have in your collection if you are really down for this hip-hop sh!t.

Here they are in no particular order. You may notice some classic albums that are not on this list. I am avoiding some of the more popular LPs, (like NWA, Dre, B.I.G., Pac.) this is a list of albums that many may not be up on, but need to be. You ready?
~ ~ ~
Eric B & Rakim-“Follow The Leader” –True Q Story- On one of my many trips to NY from TN, my uncle picks me up in his Caddy, and we ride through BK. Soon as we hit Eastern Parkway, “Follow the Leader” comes on the radio for the first time. I’ve been hooked ever since.

Ice Cube - Amerikkka's Most Wanted (I started this gangsta sh!t!!)

Slick Rick-“The Adventures OF Slick Rick” (100% hip hop)

Onyx-Baccdafucup(Reppin’ that East Coast mentality!)

A Tribe Called Quest-“Low End Theory” (Native Tongue at it ‘s finest!)

Geto Boyz-“We Can’t Be Stopped” (Uncle Scarface back in the day with his boyz)

Boogie Down Productions – “By All Means Necessary” (Fresh for 2005 you suckkkkaaaaas!)

EPMD - Strictly Business-“You Gots To Chill”, “It’s My Thang”, “Strictly Business” this album is off the meter!

Black Moon – “Enta Da Stage” This CD reminds me of Brooklyn bodegas with the BIG AZZ nickel bags. You could get like 3 blunts outta one bag, sit on the stoop and listen to Buckshot. Before Biggie, Brooklyn belonged to Black Moon and Duck Down fam.

Marley Marl's House of Hits- I was looking for “Marley Marl In Control Vol 1” but this will do. Nothing but the hits by Marley Marl, the old school king of the beats.

There will be more of these to come. I know some of you internet nerds got comments about why this or that album isn’t the greatest. Whatever punk. Do the knowledge and respect the art!

Spread love duke!

Who's dropping dimes?

Let me find out some of my people are dropping dimes. Nah, none of my folks would ever do anything as foul as that! No, I'm not talking about that kind of dime dropping. Spending money on Inauguration Day is the kind of dime dropping I'm talking about.

In addition to the "Turn You Back On Bush" protest that is scheduled to jump off on the 20th, now all American patriots can join in the peaceful protest movements by refusing to spend ANY money on Jan. 20th.

Taken from "Not one damn dime.com"

During "Not One Damn Dime Day" please don't spend money, and don't use your credit card. Not one damn dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse purchases. Nor toll/cab/bus or train ride money exchanges. Not one damn dime for anything for 24 hours.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day," please boycott Wal-Mart, Kmart and Target. Please don't go to the mall or the local convenience store. Please don't buy any fast food (or any groceries at all for that matter).

For 24 hours, please do what you can to shut the retail economy down. The object is simple. Remind the people in power that the war in Iraq is immoral and illegal; that they are responsible for starting it and that it is their responsibility to stop it.

"Not One Damn Dime Day" is to remind them, too, that they work for the people of the United States of America, not for the international corporations and K Street lobbyists who represent the corporations and funnel cash into American politics.

"Not One Damn Dime Day" is about supporting the troops. The politicians put the troops in harm's way. Now 1,200 brave young Americans and (some estimate) 100,000 Iraqis have died. The politicians owe our troops a plan -- a way to come home.

There's no rally to attend. No marching to do. No left or right wing agenda to rant about. On "Not One Damn Dime Day" you take action by doing nothing. You open your mouth by keeping your wallet closed.

Read all about it here!

Now there is a protest I can get behind. As Inauguration Day falls on the day before I get my paycheck, I can participate in this one with ease! I might add that I may be a lot of things, but a DIME DROPPER I am not!! I have never dropped dime on anyone, and I really wanted to sometimes, but I didn't. So I feel like the perfect candidate for this demonstration. Are you with me people!?! VIVA LA REVOLUTION, NO DROPPING DIMES!

New Funk!

Hip-hop hogs rap with 'Farm Market'

In hip-hop circles, good gals finish last

On the way, the new Game CD. Looks to be that next sh!t!
