August looks to be Jerry Garcia month over at Rhino, as they have a nice set of material scheduled for release this month in honor of the man and his music. The first DVD from the Jerry Garcia Band entitled “Live at Shorline” is out now. It was recorded on September 1, 1990 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View ,CA. This show took the place of a scheduled Grateful Dead show that was cancelled due to the death of Brent Mydland, the legendary keyboard player for the GD. The fill in performance of the Jerry Garcia Band makes this even more special to Deadhead and music fans in general.
On the 23rd of this month, Rhino will release “The Jerry Garcia Collection, Vol. 1: Legion Of Mary”. The Legion of Mary was a group formed by Garcia in the seventies, and this is a rare chance to listen to the band in their prime. Check the links below for all the info. More to come soon!

A very interesting report on Washington Post.com, about Al-Qaeda and their internet skills. Watch "Indexing Al Qaeda Online" and "Al Qaeda's New Base, The Internet" and read the "The Encyclopedia of Jihad" to put some spike in your morning coffee. The fact that terrorist recruit on the internet is trumped by the sobering fact that their numbers and websites are growing. It's getting critical folks...watch and learn.

Never on Sunday, Hunday?
SUTTON BONNINGTON, England (Reuters) -The short but productive life of a fresian bull, Hunday Falcon Five, ended here after he had fathered 50,000 calves. ….He died with 7,500 orders unfilled. "We just couldn't get Hunday on his feet", a spokesman said.
The New York Times, Nov. 18, 1968
Tuesday and Wednesday and Friday and Monday
And days in between held no respite for Hunday,
Who never did anything merely by halves
And therefore produced 50,000 new calves.
In his time, it is said, at the time of his peak,
Hunday's humping begat near a 1,000 a week,
But at last came the time when no prod or persuasion
Could help hapless Hunday rise to the occasion.
----------------------------------------------------
It is whispered, for no one would say it out loud,
That Hunday was finally, thoroughly cowed.

Alex Gold "Back From A Break' CD Review
International dance music heavyweight Alex Gold is umm….back. That may
not be a funny joke considering all he has been through. The Ibiza
heavyweight is in full form after recovering from a near fatal paragliding accident in 2002 that did major damage to his spinal cord. (Note to self..cancel next month’s skydiving trip ASAP!!) He says the time he spent recovering helped inspire this CD. The emotion that is packed into these tracks is undeniable as the CD is strong and filled with club bangers! Here’s the ….break…down.
- “Back From A Break”- The title tracks opens up
with a bang! Driving electro break beats pound the floor as AG gets
open and rips this track early! Alex Gold is back folks! - “String Theory” A nice airy track more along
the line of what your used to from AG. Vocals by Kelly Jones
help send this one to heaven! Nice tune! - “Energy Bomb” – Block rocking beats set it off
on this one. Kelly Jones transforms into energy and sends low
currents of raw power though the mic. - “Stranded In Paradise” I hate it when that
happens. Good thing I have a soundtrack for the event now. (Good looking
out AG) Coming to your radio soon. Mark Sales seals the deal
on this one. - “Foreign Shore” – Another radio ready hit! Kelly
Jones floats on the choppy beats and begs you not to take her from her
foreign shore. If the shore in question is Ibiza, I can see why she doesn’t
want to leave! - “Flying” – Phil Jonston joins the party
and flies with this one. Downbeat poppy jam that is a new move for AG.
Not bad. - “Who Decides” – That’s what I’m talking about.
Four on the floor wins every time and this one is no exception. A big tune
with Phil Jonston helping out on the vocals. “Next week, we could all
beeeeeeeeee………….” Nice one! - “Electric Places” – Another club banger! This
one is massive folks! Kelly Jones does the damn thing lovely on this
one! Real big! - “Better Dayz” – The CD just keeps building
energy with this one. Phil brings the harmonies to the songs and wishes for
better dayz. - “LA Today” – Does this sound like U2 2U 2?
Regardless, it’s the sh!t! This one is dedicated to my new hometown, LA, so
you gotta love it for that alone! Featuring lead vocals from Phil Oakey
from the Human League, this is a massive track! - “You’re The One” - Uptempo beats come in to
close this disc out. Kelly Jones check in one last time. Sexy close
out track to the heat packing CD!
Final Verdict-Alex Gold “Back From A Break” CD=International Club Hit!
Cop that!

Backstage at Rock The Bells, Pt 1
Backstage at Rock The Bells pt 1
What's up party people. Rock The Bells was incredible, hot and hectic. Shouts to Chang and everyone involved in the show, and sorry to Alex at MSOR for all the calls. (Everything worked out!) I hit the outdoor arena with the crew around 7 o'clock. A bad move being the show started at 11 am. I soon realized that I was faced with a major problem. Either split up with the crew to get my "press and photo passes" which were at the other side of the arena, or stay with the crew and get some major shots with them and who knows who else. The way security was acting, I didn't think that I would be able to get backstage without them, so I hung out and waited for the Wu to hit the stage. I missed all of the major performances, Nas, Redman, Living Legends, someone brought KRS-One on stage, and God knows what else. Yeah, I was heated but what are you going to do?
All was not lost tho' as I got some nice shots and some backstage video performances. Check these shots out, more on the way! What's up with the Wu-Tang Clan show in the fall?!? More to come soon!

Shouts to Cheryl Freeman and everyone at Ardustry for making us feel at home, the guys at MVD ("Where is Clint?!?"), Bon jour, je m'appelle Laurent El Q La Très Bien! to our new friends at MSI Music, and peace to the guys at Woodhaven Entertainment and everyone else I meet this last week at both conventions.
I will go into detail about all these great companies very soon, but for now, give their websites a quick overview.
~Make sure you are on the lookout for the new DVD "Off The Chain". The movie takes a look into the underground world of dog fighting. The movie lives up to it's title as it goes to document the history of America's most loved, hated, and feared canine, the pit bull.
The movie shows the history of the pit bull and uses classic film from television to show how the pit bull was once America's most beloved pet and has now become a feared and abused animal. It's said that some of the participants later caught jail time because of their connection to the film and their illegal acts.
Troy Garity was at the Adrustry Comedy Showcase at the Fontana Lounge in the Bellagio Hotel, promoting the film. Prodigal Sunn performed the movie's theme song in the fountain backed conference room.
The VSDA attendees that caught the performance were very receptive and the water cannon backdrop roared it's approval along with the crowd. I have caught a few scenes of the movie and it looks incredible! I will fill you in more soon so stay tuned!
~Another DVD that you must check for is Murder 4 Hire-Body Count on Woodhaven Entertainment. The rap and rock OG's, Body Count, are shown in live uncensored performances from their last nationwide tour. Songs included are "KKK Bitch", "There Goes the Neighborhood" and the PAL favorite, "Cop Killer". That alone would make the DVD worth the cost of admission. Did I mention that the dangerously curvy Coco is featured as well. This one is for the big boys and is not to be missed. Cop that now at http://www.Intermediavideo.com (What's up Erik! No more Amazon kayaking trips ok!)
~We did it live from The House Of Blues!
~The Last Word...-NSFW!!
Shouts to Jesse Jane. Thanks for the party invite and we will see you soon! ("The party is in Room 1***..BE THERE!!")
~Upcoming post...
Alex Gold "Back From a Break"CD
"Room Full OF Mirrors" full book review coming soon...very interesting book.....we will discuss soon.
Tons of DVD reviews up and coming, and some very nice interviews are on the horizon.
"Rock The Bells" is Saturday, stay tuned to Canhead for full coverage! (shouts to Alex! Give me a few days to get the pics and videos posted..)

The Show
Sorry to leave you all hanging for so long, but last week was stupid hectic! The California Gift Show is finally over, and I look forward to sleeping for at least a day! Average sleeping hours last week were a staggering 3 hours a day. K-Beats and I held Booth 2107 down lovely! Thanks to all our new clients, customers, business associates and friends that we met the last 5 days! The show could have been better but we are extremly happy with the results!
After a day of rest, TSC be in overdrive in the production mode, as we have orders to fill.(Thank God!)
Speaking of production, some serious heat is on your way from the crew. Beats for days! Stay tuned!
Extra shouts to Jim in Austrialia...sorry my Casio keyboard picture is killing your bandwidth, but thanks for the report on my site stats (Canhead seems to be big like buffalo wings down south....who knew....btw SiteMeter sucks!)
I'll holla!

Enigma
There is no peace with you,
Nor any rest!
Your presence is a torture to the brain.
Your words are barbed arrows to the breast,
And one but greets
To wish you sped again.
Frustrate you make desire
And action vain.
There is no peace with you .
No peace . . .
Nor any rest.
Yet in your absence
Longing springs anew,
And hopefulness besets the baffled brain.
"If only you were you and yet not you!"
If you such joy could give as you give pain!
Then what an unguent for the burning breast!
And for the harassed heart
What rapture true!
"If only you were you and yet not you!"
There is no peace with you
Nor ever any rest!

~Room Full of Mirrors : A Biography of Jimi Hendrix (Hardcover)
I'm working on a review of the new book "Room Full Of Mirrors" by Charles Cross. Its a biography about rock and roll legend Jimi Hendrix, and so far it's pretty good. I haven't read too many books on Jimi, and don't really know much about his life other than the music. I did know that he lived in my old hometown when he was younger. But that was about it. So far the book is ok, but I'm averaging about 3 pages a day. (What can I say, I'm busy) I will get around to a full review for you soon, but I'll hit you with this one ill fact about the Hendrix clan. One of his relatives had 6 fingers on each hand. I have to double check that so don't
quote me, but needless to say, the book is interesting.
Here's a little somethin' somethin' for ya'.
"Room Full Of Mirrors" Jimi Hendrix-Recorded Live, June 13, 1970, Baltimore, Maryland REAL 128K
btw...that's my birthday..seriously..I was also born in..DC!!! See why I love Hendrix,I heard dude from 50 blocks and a placenta away!
