Hard Rock Friday!

~Rock The Bells!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - SAGE FRANCIS TO APPEAR AT ROCK THE BELLS FESTIVAL!

Rock the Bells is going to be crazy! Big shouts to Guerilla Union and everyone involved in this one! I will be there wearing a few hats, multi-tasking and enjoying the show! With Sage coming back after last years “show”, this one is going to be a Polaroid moment for sure.

“After putting on an incredible set at the 2004 Rock The Bells Festival, where SAGE "involved" the audience by firing a salvo of broccoli into the crowd, Chuck D of Public Enemy commented, "Sage Francis is just being himself… SAGE seemed to take delight in taunting some of the more conservative hip-hop fans in attendance. This ultimately culminated with SAGE performing his politically charged song "Makeshift Patriot" in his underwear to "...reward the crowd for being so nice."

Stay tuned for more info!

~Hick Hop Rules!

Continuing the hip-hop country movement and challenging Cowboy Troy’s spot, Asylum St. Spankers brings hip-hop to country music. You be the judge. Kinda reminds me of The Rappin’ Duke or something Everlast forgot to do. Continued proof of the power of hip-hop and why such power must be used wisely!!

2005 Charlie Pride yaoming!

“Penned by Spankers' co-founder and co-frontman Wammo, the song "Hick Hop" (a blend of hip hop and country) has been recorded and released on two separate CDs - one of Wammo's 3 solo CDs and the last Asylum St. Spankers CD - and on the band's DVD "Sideshow Fez……Wammo would be happy to go hat to hat and boot to boot with Cowboy Troy on a Hick Hop throw-down. A verbal duel, new old-west style. What could be more Hick Hop than that?"

Videos from the DVD "Sideshow Fez" shot at the Fez Ballroom, Portland, Oregon, on August 15, 2003

Whoa!!! Another Cali Earthquake!!

Did you feel that?!?!

Time: roughly 10 minutes before 2pm PST

As I sat in my office I felt the ground start to shake. Just as soon as I could say earthquake, it was gone.

Reports are coming in now, calling it a 5.3 but they are not sure if it was a quake or an aftershock.

This makes the 3rd earthquake in a month if it IS a earthquake. I'm starting to think my decision to move to Los Angeles was a very bad idea. I know true West Coasters brush this type of thing off their shoulder and continue with their lattes, but for me it is a bit unnerving. Tsunami warnings, earthquakes and tremors are becoming a way of life out here.

I'm sure more accurate reports are coming in now, I'll keep you posted on anything major. If you are on the West Coast, buckle up!

~There's Something About Mary

~Speaking of Mary and Vibes and Stuff, The 9th Annual Erotica Los Angeles convention was an eye opening experience to say the least. It was filled with vendors of all kinds, music blasting, cars, lights, and of course more porno stars than you could shake a limp bizkit at!! After walking circles around the huge room and venturing the mini maze booths that broke up the arena, I was literally dizzy and felt the waves of TMAATS Syndrome. (Too Much Azz and Titty Syndrome...happens occasionally at really crunk parties and expensive gentlemen's clubs. Look it up.) I shook it off, like a trooper and continued navigating the carnal maze.

The event seemed to please all, as the crowd was mixed, well mannered and behaved. It looked liked all of LA was in there on Saturday. Young college types(boys and girls), computer & comicbook nerd types, couples, freaks, b-boys and vatos, some people that looked like someone else in your family, and some other people thdefinitelytly did NOT look like anyone in your family were all there! Oh and of course, beautiful girls for days!

"Don't front. You want me!"

Odd moment #1-While walking in one direction while looking at some random sex goddess in the other direction, I walked right into this dude who looked like he was from East LA. Yaoming?, white tee, khaki shorts, LA tattoo on his neck. Anyway dude is rolling deep and I'm in this piece for dolo. I walk into duke real hard, so hard I knock shit out of his hand type of hard. For a second I'm like "oh sh!t, I knocked dudes sh!t down and stepped on his esais kicks." So I'm like, "My fault homie, I was looking over at the girl on the stage" and dude starts laughing like, "I was looking over here at her, not watching where I was going!" This same scene might not have ended as well in a club but here at Erotica Los Angeles, love is love! We both got signatures and pictures from her and her and kept it moving!

A "no flashing" rule was in effect so everyone stayed clothed. I think this helped keep the vibe kinda light and playful. It wasn't as over the top as I hear some of them can be. Everyone seemed polite and talkative and the crowd was fairly tame. There were a ton of girls signing pictures and DVDs, dancing, and working the crowd. Everyonce in a while you'd walk into a big hurdle where someone was posing for pictures, or giving a lap dance without a chair, stage, or anything else really. One stage I saw was so small that my arm could have reached clear across it. How the girl managed to do a dance on it at all truly was amazing. Your favorite porn chick was there at one point, and so was mines ! Like a true idiot, I did not take my camera and I was not going to buy another one. Whatever, I got tons of freebies and email addresses! (feel free to hate me now!)

Big shouts out to Brittany Andrews, Julia Ann, Alexis Silver, Sativa Rose and Justine Joli!

Sway & King Tech presents Back 2 Basics CD\DVD Review

Sway & King Tech presents Back 2 Basics

Sway & King Tech came with it for this one. The line up is crazy with Chino XL and Crooked I getting the most shine but mad heads representing on this one. Here’s the run down.

1. "Intro"-RZA drops science on the history of hip-hop on this airy intro and gets you ready for the ride.
2. "Everything"- Sly Boogie- Way too fonky! Sly Boogie taking over “Everything”. The beat is a wide open neck snapper and Sly does his thing.
3. "Watch Closer" - Chino XL is back with this one! Tracy Lane heats up the hook and Chino warms up the mike.
4. "I Wish U Would"-Royce The 5’9”, Chino XL, & Cannibus-First collabo cut on the CD. Three heavyweight emcees flip verses on a nasty bell ringing beat produced by Kwame. Chino gets the award for illest verse on the track. ”I noticed your CD for .99 cent, what, blanks CDs are a dollar fifty, you’d make more if you shut the fuck up!”
5. "Ill Hip Hop"-Juice-Juice kicks it on a low key Panik produced track and reflects on his early days as an emcee.
6. Skit-Thoughts on how to make a good album-ok for a skit..
7. "I Don’t Think So"-Kam w. Tracy Lane-Kam sets it off and lets it be known what he is stands for. "Will you see Kam rockin’ pink? I Don’t Think So."
8. "Enough Beef" - Common, Chino XL, and Royce Da 5"9'-DJ Premier produced track heavy on the BK swing and tight lyrics from Royce, Common and Chino XL.
9. Skit-Batteries not included.
10. "We Don’t Give A .."-Kallihan feat. Hellraiza-Hip Hop track with Kallihan rippin the verse and Hellraiza on the raga hook.
11. "Watch What You Do"-Crooked I-Stragiht LA with this one. Funky, drooppy bassline slinks over the conga lit track. Crooked I is tight and does it again on this one.
12. "Wake Up Show Anniversary freestyle (2000)"-Chino XL-Vintage Chino live freestyle! Starting with LA, Chino runs down the line and drops some unreleased hip hop quotables.
13. "Trouble"-Chino XL-Tracey Lane hold it down again and sings the hook for this one. Chino is on it again, “have you talking through a wire like Kanye West
14. "23 Degrees"-Dirty Birdy-Ill panning and phasing effects on the vocal start of this track and get your attention early on. The beat turns silky smooth with key pads and electric guitar wails in the hook. Dirty Birdy flexes styles on the mic and puts in a decent cut.
15. skit
16. "Better Days"-Self Scientific-Yeah kid. Another nice on with Self Scientific dropping science for real. Too real for radio!
17. "High Fidelity"-DJ Revolution- DJ Revolution warming up the turntables and getting his scratch on. The sound frequency break down toward the end is tight and educational. “Now you’re an expert!”
18. "Hands to the Sky"-Verb & Rock-G shit to ride to. 64 Chevy music, yao ming? I don't know much about Verb & Rock, but they cut is alright. Not one of my favorites but not bad.
19. "I Love The Ghetto"-Crooked I-Another one to floss to. Crooked I shows love to the hood.
20. "Hit The Deck (Outro)"-Crooked I-The last track is another next level track by King Tech. Nice close up to a very solid CD.

Final Verdict: "Sway & King Tech presents Back 2 Basics" = BANGING!

The CD puts alot of great talent together on some tight beats. Not a lot of fast forward stuff on here other than the intros. If you do fast forward or rewind, it's because you want to hear something else again, and that's a good thing. Cop this CD!

Update: Almost forgot about the extra DVD that comes with this one! Bonus interviews, freestyles and various fly sh!t are on here for you. Chino XL's live freestyle is on here, so are appearances by Self Scientific, Canibus, Crooked I, Kam and of course Sway and King Tech!

Memphis Bleek "534" CD Review

Ok, I know this review is late, but I like to actually LISTEN to the CD before I say anything about it. A novel concept, I know. With the mail mix-up and whatnot, it took a minute to get this one done. So with no further adieu, (or is it without further ado?) peep the review.

Memphis Bleek’s new CD “534” is a good return to the game for the Memph Man. With the ever changing roster at Roc-A-Fella, the streets are watching and waiting to pop shit! This time around Memphis Bleek comes ready for the haters with a tight CD. I’ve had it for about a week now and can say that it is one of his best CD, but still not the one true fans may be looking for.

Bleek gives a safe balanced CD here, but that might be part of the problem. It seems like he is looking for a lane to ride in. Should he rock radio cuts and R&B joints? What about the street cuts or the soul beats with lyrics? It makes the CD feel like it's cut in fours. I would have preferred to hear more tracks like “First Last and Only” w/ MOP, “Straight Path”, and “Smoke The Pain Away” and a lot less “Infatuated” type cuts. Bleek can do the R&B/Rap thing well, but in my opinion he is better suited for the realness and posse cut type jams. Regardless, there is some major heat on this CD, anyone who can’t see that is just hatin’ to be hatin’.

Like That” is club DJ material for days, “Get Low” is another hit for the ROC team, Just Blaze, 9th Wonder and some new producers give the CD that knock your trunk needs and I aint got to say sh!t about “Dear Summer”, you already know that’s fire.

Final Verdict---Memphis Bleek- “534” = Tight!! Cop that!

~The Breakdown~

534”- Bleek separates himself from haters and reps his hood on this Just Blaze intro. Nice start to the CD.

Interlude”-nice segue into the hottest bonus track out this year!

Dear Summer” - Why ask why when you get a song like this. Jay-Z showing a little love. I still like the Hot97 live version better.

Like That”- current hit for Bleek with Swizz bringing the heat as usual! "It's a club banger!"

Infatuated”-Bleek is aiming at the radio with several songs on this disc. This is another one. Boxie sings the hook and Bleek spits game. Not my cup of tea but sure to bang on the radio.

The One” is the one! Rhianna and Bleek bring that summer flavor with this one! Sure to be on Bar-B-Que Play-lists this summer.

First, Last, And Only”- Bleek teams up with then label mates M.O.P. for this glimpse of what might have been if M.O.P would have been teamed up with Bleek more often. LaQwan Bell brings the heat with this beat!

Get Low”- featuring Livin’ Proof-Another banger featuring Bleek and Livin’ Proof getting busy on the hustler tip with a drum filled old school beat.

Oh Baby” -Featuring Young Gunz- Another Roc Fam sure shot! Bleek and YGz bring that BK/Philly sound like “It’s the muthafuckaing Roc!” Nice one.

Smoke The Pain Away” This is one of the hottest joints on the CD! 9th on the beat! Denim (“Hood Legends”, “I Should Have Listened”) on the hook. “You ain’t had no Cali Kush! Ladies…GIMMIE A LIGHT!-Cali Kush got you stuck!—GIMME A LIGHT!-" That’s my joint right there!

Hate Free”-A synthy bouncy beat that is ok but not a strong enough follow up cut to #10.

Alright”-9th on the beat again, another one of my favorites. Bleek said that if I thought this track was hot, “the album is gonna be fire!” So far it is.

All About Me”- Bleek rides a Mille Jackson looped beat and paints a picture of his life on this one. He revisits his old days and flips it back to current life. He deals with it all in his life and could “give a fuck what you say” if your thinking about hating on his moves. Another sleeper hit for the Memph Man.

Straight Path” – Just Blaze hits Bleek off with the always funky “Something” by Al Green and Bleek rides it out to complete the album. A tight song, but somewhat overshadowed by other songs currently out that use the same loop and flip it a bit harder. Still a good look, regardless.

What's up everybody?

I got my mail today finally. It seems that the CDs that I have been waiting on were upstairs in the building manager's office. So, I'm listening to 5 CDs, reading 3 books and playing catch up. Will post more soon.

This weekend is going to be busy as usual. The Kotton Mouth Kings are playing and Canhead's to the show. Oh yeah, did I tell you how close I am to the Los Angeles Convention Center? You do know what's happening this weekend don't you? Canhead's going to that too!

Buckle up, it's going to be a bumpy ride! Until I get done with the reviews and figure out which ones I can post MP3s of, I'll hit you with this.

We have all been tasered before, it's not that bad

I swear I really don't like cops. I would say I hate them but I save that emotion for those who really deserve it! If there is an emotion just one notch above hate, then that's the emotion cops pull out of me almost everytime I hear a story about them or see them screwfacing me at a traffic light(Yeah I got NY plates in Cali ....WHAT!!!).

This clip is a bit old now, but if you have not seen it yet, click on the title for clip. Cops taser a woman. Why? Because she refused to get out of her car and her license was suspended. The cop say she took "a swing" at them, like a 90 pound female is a big threat. If my girlfriend hits me in the head with a frying pan because I went to the strip club with my boys, I can't do anything about it. If a woman even looks like she is going to swing on a cop...HE CAN HIT HER BACK WITH THE TASER! Then the cop tries to get her to stop crying and says, "The worst part is over, we have all been tasered before, it's not that bad." OK Officer, thanks for that.

All because she wouldn't get out of the car. And why wouldn't she get out of the car? It's the cops for criss sakes. Cops are known for losing their cool and doing stuff like taser a young girl, shoot a unarmed man to death, spray a slow moving car and half the neighborhood with automatic gunfire only to find out they are shooting the wrong car, stick plungers up peoples butts for NO apparent reason other than being on some raging psycho gay butt pirate kick, get drunk and run over and kill pregnant women and children, etc, etc. (Don't make me find all the links to the incidents I mentioned. They DO exist!!)

And if your black? Let me tell you something...If I'm riding clean and a cop pulls me over and ask me to get out of my car, and I know I didn't do anything, I'm hitting speed dial on the cell and calling my lawyer before I open the door.

F The Police....and stop calling me asking for donations, it's not happening. EVER! Later One Time, I'll see you on Sunset!

Just Another Day in LA

Dodger Stadium
7:10 pm
I finally caught my first ballgame on the westside. The Dodgers played the Brewer and came through with a win! I got great seats at the last minute for like 5 bucks! Dodgers had two back to back homers that got the noise level up in the stadium. JD Drew and Jeff Kent hit homers back to back for the second time in a week, pitchers D.J. Houlton and Eric Gagne had good days on the mound. When Antonio Perez and manager Jim Tracy were ejected from the game, it got a little hectic. The ref blew it but in the end it didn't matter. Final score Dodgers 2-Brewers 1.

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2005/06/04/sports/s220652D31.DTL

The Comedy Store
11:30pm
The MTV Movie Awards had the streets of LA buzzing. Sunset was busy as usual but we decided to flip the script and check out some comedy. Dave Chappelle did the surprise appearance thing a few nights ago here and at The Comedy Improv and I was hoping for lighting to strike twice. So we decided to check it out. Jeff Richards from SNL was headlining in the main room but we chilled in the original room to check out Sergio Love. Do yourself a favor and catch his act! Dude is crazy! His LA pimps on rollerblades bit had me rotflmao! Rusty is another comic you should check out, his Michael Jackson Freddy Krugar bit is crazy!

So we had some drinks, laughed our asses off, and bounced into the Hollywood night. Enabeler #1 got the call from homebase telling us to get home ASAP! Someone was throwing a BIG party on our roof!

Homebase
0300 am
Don't you love it when you come home and a top name DJ is playing on your roof with like 300 headz dancing!

We pull up and can tell something big is jumpin off. Cars were lined up for at least two blocks up and down Hill Street. If your from LA, you know it's dead downtown at 3 am, unless your close to a club or a party. We pull into the garage, catch the freight elevator to the roof and bam!
Crazy roof party jumping off! On the wheels of steel, Cut Chemist doing the damn thing! Red Stripe all around, fireworks, the whole nine. We had no idea anything was planned. This is actually the second time this week this happened. Someone had a party on the floor below us last night but I passed on it. This one was tight. I dont know who threw it but will let you know, as we WILL do it again very soon. Stay tuned.

Informant in Rap Star's Slaying Admits Hearsay

The LA Times has a story that will send waves through the music industry today. "Psycho Mike", the key informant that had painted such a vivid picture of the Notorious B.I.G.'s murder scene, has now changed his story. He basically claims that he is "a paranoid schizophrenic".

Check for the story at LA Times, and follow the links for more on the topic.

2nd Video Pick of the Day

Wu Tang: Disciples of the 36 Chambers - First 8 Minutes
from IFilm.com~

The Show

Sway and King Tech present Back 2 Basics Concert

Saturday May 28th @ The Vanguard (Club Q-Topia) 6021 Hollywood Blvd.

As always I arrived at the show on CPT. It wasn’t my fault this time tho’ I swear! The plan was to meet up with everyone at 36 Chambers and jet to the show. After shuffling through clothes and getting some loot, I met up with the Enabler # 1, K-Beatz (more on the Enablers in a minute) and we rolled out. We thought we were following the right SUV, but soon figured out that the people in front of us were not our people. So after riding in circles for a minute trying to find the spot, we finally made it to the club. By the time we got in, Crooked I was already on stage doing the damn thing. That meant that we missed Chino XL, Kam, and God knows who else. To calm my nerves, I hit the bar while Crooked I showed love for all the “black and brown” in the house.

The club was packed too! From the back it looked like standing room only on the main floor. I hung out up in the balcony for a minute, watching the show. Sway and Tech came out and hit the crowd off with promos then went on to introduce Sly Boogie. I’m not really up on Sly, but he did his thing. He had the crowd going with “Everything” and had a tight set. Self Scientific hit the stage next and rocked “Better Days” off the “Back 2 Basics” CD. Sad to say, my attention was diverted by yet another trip to the bar during his set, but I heard him and dude is nice! Be on the lookout for this cat!

After a while, I wanted to change the angles and get better look at the stage so I tried my luck at backstage right. Me and Beatz fought our way thought the crowd to get just as RZA hit the stage. Now I may be biased on this one a bit, but I think RZA had the best set. You should have heard the crowd when the spaghetti western intro came across the speakers. When RZA hit the stage and “Nothing to Fuck With” came on, it was over.

The crowd went ape shit as RZA ripped though some of his classic Wu-Tang cuts. Then he gave Prodigal Sunn some shine as they went into the RZA produced “Brutalities (The Grindz Remix)” single off P Sunnzini’s upcoming album. C.C.F was on stage to, and the entire stage was filled with Wu-Representatives. RZA continued to rock his hits afterwards and the crowd showed mad love for the Wu. They ended the set with a dedication to ODB and said goodnight to the Vanguard crowd.

After that, it was Talib Kweli’s turn and when he hit the stage, the decibel level of the crowd went up a few notches. I caught a few of his songs and was called away for the usual card passing politicking that takes place backstage, yao ming? So in the end, I missed a lot of the show, but caught some of the best performances of the night. Make sure you cop that Back2Basics CD!

Motley Sue and tell NBC F U!

Motley Crue is going after NBC for banning them from performing. They were blacklisted for the crime of cursing during the New Year's Eve 2004 broadcast . The banning does seem extreme and unfair considering the fact that other performers have made the same "mistake" and not been banned from NBC. So they are suing NBC to take a stand and make a point. Go to their official website for more info on it.

lost audio transcript from a Motley Crue press conference:

Mama Said Smack You Out!

Whoa...take it easy there killer...

~excerpt from Blender interview~

When was the last time you threw a punch offscreen? bradleyAA, Miami

Will Smith: I smacked a dude in LAX a couple of years ago. I haven’t punched anybody because I know how to punch now. And, if I punch someone, I’m gonna hurt them really bad. So I smack now. Because a smack stings. It was a photographer. They do this thing in L.A. where there’s two photographers and one photographer comes over to fuck with you and the other one’s across the street and they shoot it. So I made sure they got a good piece of film.

I read somewhere that you said you had an open marriage. If that’s true, can I get Jada’s number? grillpower, Lancaster, PA

WS: I never said that I had an open marriage. What I said is that our relationship is based on 100% truth. That, no matter what, there’s never going to be something that I would say or do that I wouldn’t tell her first. And then the interviewer said, well, what if you were with Eva Mendes and you wanted to … I said, well, I would say to my wife—if that situation presented itself—I would say, “Honey, I want to sleep with Eva Mendes, is that OK?” And, you know, she’d probably say no. But the point was, how can you expect to be successful in a relationship if you’re not telling your partner the 100% truth? The fact that the interviewer could take that in the direction he took it showed me where he is in his relationship, you know?

{in Jim Carey's Ace Ventura voice}Alllllll-righty then. Check the inteview at Blender.com.

Mashin Up The World & House Of Blues MP3!

In honor of Prodigal Sunn's new album dropping in June 21st, I thought I'd bless you with some oldies but goodies from Sunzini.

"Mashin' Up The World" is off the Gold selling album "Jazzmatazz, Vol. 3: Street Soul". Guru+P Sunn+Jr. Reid=hip-hop classic! Cop that!!

"House Of Blues" is a cut from "Savior's Day". It was executive produced by Godz Incorporated, a mulitmedia solution company formed by Prodigal Sunn in 2002. Also featured on the track is Madame Dee, another artist signed to Godz Inc. and featured on the upcoming "Return of the Prodigal Sunn" album. P picked this one to post himself as a way of saying peace to all the Canheads out there! That's love!

Click on my AudioStreet.net page for the streaming MP3s. Stay tuned....more to come in the following days!

Don't forget to catch P Sunn at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood on June 24. ~I will remind you about that one!~

A little bit of soap..

I saw this while reading Better Than Yours, which lead me to this. Nice site you have over there Ms. Price. By the way guys, you do know Q also has a wonderful line of soap and all natural beauty products, don't you?

We are working on repacking the entire line for summer and are having a massive sale on all our older label products. We cold process our bars so re-batching isnt really our thing, but you never know, give us a call! (Just in case your a vendor looking for a nice deal or something..hint..hint.)

Anyway...back to the music. Check Topanga Soap blog for more on soap and other squeeky clean issues!

Back 2 Basics with Sway & King Tech!

In case you didn’t know, Sway & King Tech are about to hit you in the head with some real hip-hop! The world famous hip hop DJs are set to release their new CD “Sway & King Tech presents Back 2 Basics” and the line up is bananas!

The album looks to be a small who’s who in hip hop as emcees such as Canibus, Self Scientific, Royce Da 5’9”, Kam”, Common, Chino XL, Juice, Crooked I and many more are on the line-up. King Tech broke it down and explained why they chose to take it back to basics on this one. "I wanted to go get guys that are hungry, that still have the talent, that are upcoming or that are just on a veteran level as opposed to just going after platinum artists to just stack up the names. It wasn't about that for us. You can have Eminem who has his own fan base, but let's try to find the next Eminem, find the next talent that's coming up and try to break something with this one."

Chino XL is back ya’ll and he rips shit on both of these cuts, but the solo cut is a solid return to the game for this battle ready emcee. With all that firepower, Sway and King Tech are set give hip-hop another “Anthem”.

The CD will feature a free DVD as well. I will break the CD down further for you as soon as I get it, but until then you can check out two singles of the album here!

RIP Justo Faison

and read Miranda Jane's post about Justo's passing here!

Watch and Observe

~I'm 'bout to set it on society, watch me while I do it~

I have too many thing to catch you all up on but until then, I guess I could let you in on what websites I'm researching while I work in the lab, plotting to take over the world!

Sway & King Tech are dropping Back 2 Basics on May 24th.

On May 28th, they are performing a Back 2 Basic concert featuring Talib Kweli, RZA, Dilated Peoples, Chino XL, Kam, Crooked I, Canibus, Sly Boogie, Royce Da 5'9, Self Scientific and more at The Vanguard, 6021 Hollywood Blvd. I suggest you be there!

Weekend recap:

If you were on the corner of North Curson and Melrose Avenue on Saturday afternoon and wondered who was making all the ruckus at Fat Beats, it was the RZA holding a in-store book signing for The Wu Manual Enter the 36 Chambers. Prodigal Sunn, Free Murder, Barretta Nine,Young Master, and other Wu affiliates and members of Killer Army were in the spot, freestyling while RZA rocked the ones and twos for the Fat Beats crowd. Everything was love and I got to see first hand why that Bobby Valentino song is a TRUE STORY! (what's up to the honey dip that was sippin on a Jamba juice smiling at El Q...I see you!) Q was in the house, his camera was in the car so sorry, no pics. Next time I swear! After that everyone slid to the 36 Chambers and broke night. Like Cube said, it was a good day.

More to come soon! One!

Grab some bench! "Kicking And Screaming" hits town Friday

Will Ferrell is one of those actors that make really dumb movies funny. He saved "Anchorman", had the best scenes in "Old School" and made you laugh in "A Night at the Roxbury". Some of his better performances are as Mustafa in "Austin Powers" and he even popped in "Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back". In his latest movie, Will Ferrell aims for the bleachers like Pele kicking one in the crowd and scores big!

"Kicking & Screaming" opens in theaters Friday 14th nationwide. I checked it out last night at an early screening at the AVCO. It is a hilarious comedy set in the fast paced world of little league soccer. Ferrell plays Phil Weston, Robert Duvall plays his super competitive dad, Buck, and "Iron" Mike Ditka plays himself as the annoying neighbor from hell. Phil decides to coach his son Sam's soccer team after their coach quits. The only thing is the number one team, The Gladiators, is coached by Duvall, the same coach who traded Sam, his own grandson!

It's a funny movie that parents can feel safe taking their pre-teens too see with enough goofy humor to keep everyone entertained. I was crying at the whole idea of Ferrell's brother Buck Jr. being the exact same age as his son Sam. When the two face of on the soccer field and Buck Jr tells Sam "You gotta get through ole Uncle Buck", I was crying. The coffee jokes were funny and Ditka was incredible! The kids are great and the Italians help bring the "Bend It Like Beckham" aspect to it. Not bad at all! Check the links below for more info, trailers and go see the movie.

DVD in the headrest-National Lampoon's Lost Reality 2

Lost Reality 2

National Lampoons "Lost Reality 2" is a mess. I forced my roommate to watch this DVD with me. We didn’t get past the first minute. I had to hold a gun to his head to finish watching this piece of sh!t to review. It’s pretty bad. The premise of the DVD is to present a series of sketches that mocked reality show pilots and short skits that didn’t make it on air anywhere. I didn’t think I would be able to finish writing this piece as it was by far the dumbest thing I have seen in a while. These guys have ruined the good name of National Lampoon with the release of this.

To be fair, a few of the skits made me laugh, “Scare Me” was one of the few that I got a laugh out of. Other skits like “Boner Boy”, “Midget Wars”, “Money”, “The Amazing Racist”, “Project Redlight”, “Swing House”, and “Lifestyles of the Poor and Homeless” are bad beyond words. The funny thing is the producers of “Lost Reality 2” acknowledge this fact over and over again in the movie. This DVD is an incredible waste of time. Fans of low brow humor should be beside themselves with this one. Sorry again Brian.

These guys are giving away free promos and have a trailer of the movie!
