Word on the strets is that they will be doing the damn thing all weekend long. Peep the flows with the live broadcast at BBC. Right now, Young Jeezy is on stage running through his hits. And then what? I would guess Boyz In Da Hood. Go listen.

"Get Your Own Damn Beer" book review
Holly Robinson Peete has a new book out called “Get Your Own Damn Beer, I’m Watching The Game! A Woman's Guide To Football”. It’s basically a Football for Dummies, written for women. (I’ll avoid the obvious jokes here) That in itself is comical, as any woman who seriously wants to learn more about football, probably already knows at least half as much about the game as you. She might even make better fantasy football picks than you. Any other woman reading this book, most likely doesn’t care one way or another about football. So why would anybody want to read this book? Well, maybe because Holly Robinson Peete, aka Mr. Cooper’s Vanessa, aka the wife of Rodney Peete, wrote it. I mean, Zora Neal Hurston, she is not. Then again, I’m no Shakespeare and yet, your reading this and enjoying it, right? You get the same kind of vibe when you read “Get Your Own Damn Beer..”.
I am still thumbing through it, and have mixed thoughts about it. I like the way she writes from her own perspective, as the wife of football great Rodney Peete. The way she interjects little personal notes while describing offensive line-ups is funny. It’s even funnier when she say things like Rodney better not mess with the center’s wife “..if he knows whats good for him.” Not sure if that was a joke or not, but it reads well and brings a little spark to the book. The book is funny, with things like “The 10 All Time Annoying Things We Should Never Say To Our Men During The Game”, (#9 especially!) “10 All Time Great Moments” (1992 AFC Wildcard Play Off Game-Bills v. Oilers) and more.
She loses me on the female stuff, like "Top 10 Best Butts In The Game". I’m just now reading the “Desperate Housewives” chapter, where she talks with Deanna Farve (married to Brett), Brenda Warner (married to Kurt), and Sherice Brown(married to Tim) and they do the View thing, except sports talk is allowed.
Holly has written a decent book with “Get Your Own Damn Beer..”. Fellas, it might be a slick way to get that special love in your life to stop standing in front of the television on Sunday afternoon, demanding your attention right then or deciding to vacuum the entire house during the 4th quarter of your teams wildcard game. She might actually sit next to you, read the book, and finally “get it”. Before you know it, she’ll have a favorite team that kicks your favorite teams ass and wins the division!
Final Verdict="Get Your Own Damn Beer!.." =Touchdown!
This is a nice book for the ladies on the sidelines for the first time. Holly gets the extra point conversion for her personal flair and insights to complete a solid play effort by the offensive team. Nice play!

And finally, this…
So as the crew were already at the Dead Prez/KRS-One show and I was getting ready, I got this feeling in my gut. I don’t know how to describe it, it was just a weird feeling like, “here we go, let the bullshit begin.” So as soon as I walk out the door, I get a call. “Party’s over tell the rest of the crew”
For some reason, the show got shut down by the cops. I heard someone say it had something to do with permits, but I may be wrong. All I know is that the rest of the night was kind ill as well. I ended up catching Quinto Sol at Little Temple, and then roaming downtown LA. Shit was jumping off all night tho’, a couple of shoot-outs in the streets, and females seemed to be extra friendly for some reason. The vibe was bugged out all night. Go figure. Read up on the dead prez-KRS-One show that wasn't at Davey D’s site. (Good looking out SV!)

Judge D “No Compromize” CD review
You may not have heard of Judge D before, but after you hear his sophomore release “No Compromize”, you’ll be telling everyone you know to look out for this cat. The CD is a perfect audio backdrop for the cover, as Judge D stands in front of what looks like an army of state police ready to shut him down. The back of the CD cover, shows the millions who stand behind him, ready to ride for the cause.
It may sound like just another loud, rock and roll party going on, but if you listen closely, you might hear the revolution behind the beats. There is a strong message in the music, and if you get it, you’re with it! This one is for the b-boys, metal heads, and music lovers of all tribes! It doesn’t hurt that Judge D represents his tribe as well, that of course being Navajo and Cherokee. He calls on all to hear his message and only the deaf will ignore it from here on.
Judge D gets some help from some of his Suburban Noize labelmates and friends, as we get guest spots from Daddy X, Tech N9ne, D-Loc, Big B, who is getting major these days with his spots on the new show "Inked" on A&E, and many more. Standout cuts on this one, imho, are "Voicez", "Powertrippin", and the ill intro "No Compromize".
The Rundown
1. No Compromize –intro cut sets it off and lets you know who you’re dealing with. Banging into cut!
2. Survive-
3. Just Remember-
4. Voicez (Featuring Tech N9ne)-Tech N9ne joins in and helps JD bang this track out! Top choice with another stand-out performance from Tech N9ne!
5. I Don’t Wanna Die (Featuring J. Richter and Big B)
6. Roll Call (Featuring Dirtball)
7. Kronik (Featuring J. Richter) Judge D breaks out the bag, and J. Richter joins the session.
8. We D.G.A.F. (Featuring Chucky Styles)
9. Powertrippin (Featuring Daddy X)-Kottonmouth King Daddy X steps to the mic and rips it with JD. Should do well on radio! Sike!!! Play it anyway, if you aint skerrrd!! Another PAL favorite.
10. Souljaz Story (feat. Richter) Another tight track featuring J. Richter!
11. Interview
12. Gangsta -Banger! This one goes out to the power structure of America! The real gangstas!
13. Seize Fire
14. Get There -Another solid cut from Judge D, great for radio.
15. The X-Cape
Final Verdict = “No Compromize” = No question, no doubt! Judge D’s got something to say and you should listen! COP THAT!! IN STORES SEPT 13th!!! Stay tuned for tour info.
===================================================================
*Hear the entire "NO COMPROMIZE" CD on Monday Sept 12 @ 4:20pm pst on www.snirs.com with Judge D telling about each song and what inspired him to write them!

To Mart or not to mart
That is the question.
I was reading this bit at BC about Garth Brooks now selling his music exclusively through Wal-Mart. This may or may not be a sign of Armageddon, but it is another example of how the retail giant continues to take over everything!
So that lead me to researching older articles I read about the evils of Wal-Mart. Mind you, I personally have nothing against Wal-Mart. I do know some people who would not be caught dead in one of them, and not for any noble save the world economy jazz either. Those that boycott the chain because of their principles do make some strong arguments. Read on for more on the Wal-Mart issue.

This one came to me from a girl named Q. Someone tell me if that is Wolf Blitzer talking. I hope not. "So poor and so.....black?" WTF? So if this would have happened in Beverly Hills, would he have said the victims are so rich and so.....white?

E-Mail Response From Gregory S. Henderson, MD, PhD, New Orleans to www.Femmixx.com
Sun, 04 Sep 2005
I am still in New Orleans. I was out of commission for a few hours overnight. I didn't realize how dehydrated and hypoglycemic I was until I collapsed at the Sheraton last night. My close colleagues in this effort, the New Orleans police got an ER doc that I met up with during the evacuation efforts of the convention center to come by and run a few bags of fluid in me and bring me to Ochsner where I got some sleep. I am about to head back out into the field - I will remember to drink more this time.
An important contact for any physicians to call to join the medical care team in New Orleans is an impressive young medical student and EMT named Drina Freitas. She works directly under the ER doc who took care of me last night. This ER doc's name is Juliet (I didn't catch her last name). But Drina has the only working cell phone and she assured me that she will route all docs who want to participate or send supplies to Dr. Juliet.
So call Drina at 504-914-7394. Distribute this e-mail as widely as possible.
Again thanks for your thoughts and prayers. - Greg Henderson

~PR from Atlantic Records
JUVENILE SPEARHEADING NEW ORLEANS RELIEF EFFORTS;
RAP STAR'S HOME DESTROYED BY HURRICANE KATRINA
Atlantic recording artist Juvenile, whose New Orleans home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, is helping spearhead the movement by the music community to organize relief efforts for his native city.
"Our city of New Orleans and several other surrounding cities are experiencing total devastation," said Juvenile. "People have lost their loved ones, their homes, their belongings, and their jobs. Many of our folks in New Orleans didn't have much to begin with and now they have now lost everything. Everyone has to pull together to help all those who have suffered these great losses.
"We as Americans were so responsive to the world in the face of the tsunami, and we have sent our troops and our money to Iraq and Afghanistan," Juvenile continued. "So I am sure that we, as individuals and as a country, can apply to Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida the massive level of effort and giving which is surely demanded now. Please keep our city, its people, and our families in your prayers and donate whatever you can to the Red Cross."
Teruis Gray, aka Juvenile, was not in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit. His home was located near the water on Lake Pontchartrain, in St. Tammany Parish in the city of Slidell, New Orleans' neighbor to the east, Slidell was crossed by the eye of the hurricane, and Juvenile lost his house and all of his possessions. The multi-platinum rapper grew up in the Magnolia Projects in the center of New Orleans, and he has always been a New Orleans resident. His parents also live in New Orleans, and he has over 200 relatives in the area. The locations of many of his family members are still unknown, and only about half of them were able to get out before the hurricane arrived. Many of his friends also have still to locate family members.
Monetary donations to the American Red Cross may be made by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW or online at www.redcross.org. The Red Cross cannot accept individual donations of food, clothing, or other goods.
Warner Music Group, the parent company of Atlantic Records, will be making a corporate donation to the American Red Cross. In addition, WMG is partnering with Network for Good, the Internet's leading charitable resource, to create a WMG-dedicated website to accept donations to relief organizations. Employee contributions through Network for Good's WMG website will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to a total $100,000.

We Can Dance If We Want To!
Peace party people!
Hope your weekend was great! Holidays always seem to leave me more tired than before. I end up cramming a months load of activites into a 3 day weekend. So today, I'm recharging the batteries, and cleaning out the emails.
~Did I mention that I have a poem published in "IMG Magazine"? It's a new online magazine, I believe they are going to print soon, but don't quote me on that. Anyway, my poem, "The Pen"was posted here many moons ago, and can be seen at their website. Check the link below for more.

~Props to DJ 3rd I (MusicPlusTV.com) for the slamming Line Of Sight pool party this weekend. Peace to eveyone I met and chilled with. Much love to the skinny dipping females in the hot tub/pool, and shame on the skinny dipping dudes for fucking it up for the rest of us. Big shouts to Jesse at Intellegence Records, I&I, and Kasper, Subterranean Network, and everyone that hung out with me while I ran my marathon DJ set. Can't wait for the next one!
~I'm trying to read this book, "Get Your Own Damn Beer, I'm Watching The Game" by Holly Robinson Peete. Trying my best. I have sooo much on my plate but I'm skimming through it. Much more later but here are some links on it.
