Personal post:
I got this one from Silent Bob. Shout out to Killer Priest, Uncle Bob, Shrek and the rest of the meatball crew.
Taken from Shadowland Haunted Places webpage:
Albany County - Selkirk - GE Plastics -
The site of GE in Selkirk used to be the Becker farm. It is over 300 acres. The original farm house is still intact and was occupied on and off with offices until March of 2004. There had been many stories from employees on what they had seen or heard.
The story goes that Mr. Becker caught his wife having sex with one of the slaves. He took the slave and pushed him down a very narrow out of the way set of slave stairs and he died, he then took a knife and killed his wife by cutting her head off or attempting to anyway. He was so grief stricken about his wife having an affair and the fact that he killed her, he went to the basement and hung himself. When in the basement sometimes the lights will all blow out or other things will turn on and off. And when on the second floor where he supposedly killed his wife there is a strange smell, kind of like perfume. And when going up or down the slave stairs you get a strange sense of being watched or followed.
There are also motion detectors and intrusion alarms. some guards say there that sometimes they will go off, when the building is completely empty. And they will go off in a strange order, sometimes near the basement and then almost immediately near the stairs. Sometimes it appears as if someone is walking through. They will check the system to see who accessed the Becker House and see that no one has.
I use to work here, and this story was all over the plant. As a guard, I can tell you that place was creepy as hell! I remeber getting chills in that building several times and the thing about the motion decetors is true too.
Somebody better call GhostBusters!

Suit claims Billboard's bias was off the charts
Read this story in New York Daily News. Sounds like a slam dunk to me. Emails will get you every time!

Who?
Almost forgot about these two.
1.)When I was in Miami at Club Sobe, I went and asked the DJ that was on before Kid Capri, if he had any of that new Mike Jones.
Dude says "Who?"
(I can't make this stuff up people, I'm not that creative)
"Mike Jones!"
"Who?"
"Yo, your killing me right now kid."
"Sorry, this girl was asking me for something just a minute ago, and I didn't have that either. "
"Oh yeah? Who was it?"
"Somebody named Tall Wall."
I started laughing my azz off. I tried to tell him who it was, and that I was asking for the same song but I don't think he heard me. He ended up playing Mobb Deep's "Cobra". Whatever.
I was reading Jay Smooth's site and it reminded me of my similar incident, again true story.
2.)Somewhere in Georgia, heading to Nashville early Monday morning, we pull up to some gas station in the middle of nowhere. As I leave the store, some white guy walks up to me, looks me in the face and says "Well I'll be gaddamn! It's muthafucking Chris Rock! What's up man!" I was too surprised to say anything back, and he walks away like he really just met Chris Rock in the middle of Georgia. Whatever.

It Aint Chris Rock Trick, It's Q.Rock 6!

What a long, strange trip it’s been!
Where do I begin?
This trip is by far one of the worst I have ever been on. (And there have been quite a few runner ups for that prized spot!) Every step revealed yet another massive obstacle to be overcome, another hurdle in my path to journalistic success and a sun soaked Miami Beach vacation. By the time I returned home, my life had been thrown in complete disarray and I am still struggling to put out the fires. I may never vacation again. Yeah, it was that bad. Uncle Q has a story that rivals Homer's Odyssey! OK, maybe it’s not that bad, but its pretty f’in close. Are you ready? This is going to be a long one.
03/25/05------0245 hours-----Albany NY
As I do a final check of everything I need as I get ready to go, I have a sinking feeling that this trip is not a good idea. The objective is to get to Miami to interview some of the movers and shakers at this years WMC and M3 conferences and hopefully sell them to some magazines. I have a few people that I hoped to catch up with, but being that the conference ends tomorrow, and the Ultra Festival will be going on for a couple of hours already by the time I make it there, I was really starting to regret booking the trip. But I was already in too deep, with people expecting me in Tennessee and Miami. So I threw everything in my two overnight bags, and hit the door.
While driving down to LaGuardia Airport, I really consider pulling over and going back home, calling everyone in the morning and apologizing for standing them up. The fact that I am having cold feet so late in the trip insures that I will not get a penny back from my AOL Last Minute Deal package. And as I start to do a quick mental rundown of my finances, I really want to pull he plug on the trip. The thought of the Miami sun was way too powerful to ignore, especially as it is starting to snow yet again in Albany. So I continue on my journey while watching my car’s temperature gauge start to inch up slowly.
It’s been a few years since I moved out of the NYC area, I failed to take into consideration that rush hour starts around 5am. Soon as I got to the GW Bridge, I hit traffic and knew I was in trouble. As I felt my blood pressure start to match my slowly overheating car temperature, I finally pulled in LaGuardia, absent mindedly parked in he short term parking lot (more on this later), and ran into the terminal. The aforementioned Delta agent informed me that I would indeed miss my flight, but punched in some number and got me on the next flight out..at 9:35. No problem, if a 3 hour wait is the worse I’ll have to deal with, I can handle that. So I get my boarding pass, take off my stinky shoes at the security check-in, and wait for my flight.
03/25/05---1430 hours—Cincinnati, OH
For some strange reasons, something told me to look again at my itinerary. I didn’t really look it over after I booked the package. I just saw that I had a great deal, round trip flight to Nashville, car rental, and hotel in Nashville. I couldn’t remember the hotel’s name, so I checked the package again and found….NO HOTEL! With 20 minutes until my Nashville flight began boarding, I called AOL to see what the problem was. Of course they were no help at all, telling me I did NOT book a hotel, even though the package does include one. They told me it was my fault for not picking a hotel, which I could not understand as they also said the hotel came with the package plan automatically. After listening to the AOL customer service rep talk in circles for about 15 minutes, they put me on hold. I hung up and caught my flight. It was a pain, but not a total loss, as I had planned to drive to Miami anyway. It was just another sign that I should have listened to my gut and stayed in Albany.
03/25/05---1830 hours-----Nashville, TN
Finally in Nashville, I step to the Hertz car rental, drop a $50 for the deposit on the 2005 Ford Mustang (yesssirr!), pick up my sister Ebony and her man Lyondell, and hit the road. This is the beginning of the fun part of the trip, riding clean through Tennessee-Georgia and Florida, taking pictures, laughing, watching “Along Came Polly” (let it rain!), “Starsky and Hutch” (Do it..do it, just do it!) and just enjoying our last minute road trip. We were all excited and couldn’t wait to get to Miami.
03/26/05------1000 hours----South Beach, Miami
A little later than we expected, we pull up on Collins Avenue. Everyone wanted to get to the hotel, but I just had to check the strip real quick. Plus I figured we wouldn’t be able to check in until at least noon so we cruised South Beach a bit. When I called the hotel to get directions, I got the next surprise of the trip. The hotel is a half hour drive away. Not too bad, but not the greatest news to people who have been driving all night. After getting lost a few times, we find our hotel and are told we cannot check in yet. UGHHH!! So we eat lunch and about 1 hour later we get our room and everyone passes out.
03/26/05------1800 hours ----South Beach, Miami
After everyone took a nap, showered and got dressed, we hit South Beach. At this point I had all but given up on he idea of catching up with anybody, as I knew the Ultra Festival was almost over! I figured, the heck with it, let me relax and have fun down her with my sister. We did have fun too, driving up and down Washington and Collins Avenue. I was supposedly on a few list at some parties, but I wanted to entertain my sister and Lyondell, as they had never been to Miami.
So we tried to get into the DJ Clue party at State, but they were beating fools in the head! $50.00 a pop. So we went to Sobe to hear Kid Capri. From the size of the crowd, I think everyone else who wanted to hear hip-hop did the same that night. It was tight! (I would have pictures to post, but my sister has that camera…look for the pics soon!) Anyway, we posted up in that spot until I feel asleep on one of the sofas in the back. Some girl plopped down next to me, asked me if I was ok, and couch danced with me to some old 2 Live Crew. After a few songs, I got up, found Ebony and Lyondell and we left.
03/27/05-------1500 hours -----Miami Fl
After we checked out of the hotel, we hit South Beach one more time, to get some more loot, eat lunch and get ready for the big trip back. I really did not want to leave. One of the reasons that I love South Beach is that it seems like its Fantasy Island or something. Nothing looks real to me, and the sight of the beautiful people driving beautiful cars in a beautiful setting is very surreal. It’s like stepping out of a dark noir film into the blinding color of the Land of Oz. I did not want to return to the grey reality of my life so quickly. But return we did, and grey it was!

Memph Bleek Is....dropping 534 in May!
Memphis Bleek ran up on the hip hop scene in 1996 with a little help from his friend Jay-Z on "Coming Of Age" on Jay's "Reasonable Doubt" CD. He introduced himself as a emcee to be dealt with on “Memphis Bleek Is..” and it wasn’t long after that we all knew exactly who he was.
Since his debut, Bleek has held it down on Roc-A Fella, releasing 3 Gold records and appearing on such hip-hop classics as “Hey Papi”, “Do My..” “What You Think Of That”,“Round Here” and “Is That Your Chick” to name a few. Bleek is set to release his latest CD "534" this spring, and agreed to answer a few e-mail questions about the upcoming CD, The Roc, Game, give us a financial tip or two, and say his peace. Check it out! Straight from Marcy, its the Memph Man at Canhead! (what you think of that?)
Canhead:
How’s the family doing? I know you have been speaking on more personal things like on the M.A.D.E. album. Is everybody good, your son, your brother?
Memphis Bleek:
Everyone is in good health. My son is bad as ever. My brother is doing real well. His rehab has been a slow long process but it’s good.
Canhead:
There is a lot of attention on Roc-A-Fella and Def Jam now with all the moves. It seems now that you truly are the veteran of Roc-A-Fella. What does this all mean for you? How do you feel about the new moves?
Memphis Bleek:
I feel good! I feel like it couldn’t have come at a better time now because I understand what I gotta do and now I’m just going to go do it.
Canhead:
Obviously the whole situation with Beans and State Property is getting hectic. Some thought you may have been getting overlooked because of all the Philly cats on Roc-A-Fella. Now it seems that side of the crew is a little shaky. How do you feel about all that?
Memphis Bleek:
I feel like we all bigger than that man. Everyone [is] getting money, its nothing that a conversation shouldn’t end. They should wait until Beans come home because then they can really see where his mind is at.. When you're locked up you can think a little bit off the wall.
Canhead:
The new 9th Wonder track “Alright” is fire, as is! What else can we expect from the new album?
Memphis Bleek:
If that’s fire, then you can expect lava on the album!
Canhead:
Why do you think “M.A.D.E.” was a “sleeper” as you say in “Alright”? Did you see the writing on the wall back then with Roc-A-Fella?
Memphis Bleek:
Definitely. I saw the split coming. I seen the separation and how people [were] trying to exclude me out of Roc-A-Fella. I knew at the time I had the short end of the stick.
Canhead:
Are there any mixtapes we should be looking out for with you on it?
Memphis Bleek:
Mixtape scene, [I’m] on Clue’s mixtape, K-Slay, Envy, and Absolut.
Canhead:
What’s up with Get Low? Can we expect to hear any new heat from Geda K? How’s H Money Bags?
Memphis Bleek:
H Money Bags doing good. He’s locked up, serving 7 year sentence. As far as Get Low, I’m on them every day about putting records out. They make records everyday and just hold them but soon as I get them to release them, the music will be on the street
Canhead:
You still got mad beats on the side? You once mentioned how Jay used to scream on you about being in the studio to much. Any chance of Canhead getting an exclusive mp3 to post?
Memphis Bleek:
Yeah – send me your email address.
(I will keep you guys posted as soon as I get the mp3s)
Canhead:
I don’t really want to but I gotta ask. What’s the deal with you and Game? Is everything cool between the two of you or is it still what it is?
Memphis Bleek:
We cool. Everything is cool. Ain’t no beef just 534.![]()
Canhead:
You once said that you invested most of your money when you first got your deal. Do you have any financial or investment tips for the people out there?
Memphis Bleek:
Buy yourself a house, fix it up and watch how fast the rate goes up.
Canhead:
Your scene with Dame in Paper Soldiers is funny as hell. Can we expect any scene stealing from you in the new State Property movie?
Memphis Bleek:
Not in the new one – I died in the first one. If there was a way they could bring me back to life like Elektra....
Ed. Note: Damn..I forgot that...You could play the twin brother no one knew about, coming back avenging your brother’s death…just a thought.
Canhead:
What CDs you’re listening to right now?
Memphis Bleek:
John Legend, 50 Cent (Massacre), TI, Lil Wayne
Canhead:
When’s the last time you been to Tennessee? Just had to ask, I’m from Clarksville originally. It’s ok if you don’t know where that is.
Memphis Bleek:
I been to Tennessee on the Jay Z and Friends Tour in Nashville, putting it down!
Canhead:
Who/what is your favorite emcee(s)/favorite albums?
Memphis Bleek:
Big Daddy Kane – “Long Live The Kane”
Canhead:
It’s been a while since “Backstage”. Any new road stories you’d like to tell us about?
Memphis Bleek:
I don’t have no new stories. Just people getting on each other, getting locked up for speeding, came back candy. [That’s the] weirdest thing I heard on the road.
Canhead:
When is the album coming out? Any shows?
Memphis Bleek:
May 17th. 534 [is the] album, [I’m] on promo tour now, hitting different markets, Mid-west, West Coast, [I’m] going all over.
Canhead:
Any final words on any thing you want to promote?
Memphis Bleek:
Thanks for supporting Roc-A-Fella since ‘96.
Last words – we be getting busy!
There you have it! Make sure you cop that CD when it hits stores near you. I will let you know of any updates, events, and other goodies. Here are a few links that I found out there on Memphis Bleek as well.

It’s been a long time

I shouldn’t have left you. For real, I shouldn’t have left. I will go into it in detail later, but let me just say it was not fun. At total bust of a trip, except for about 18 hours of fun in Miami, getting there and getting back home was hell. I’m trying to decide the name for the next post….it’s a tie between “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” or “Canhead’s Vacation...NOT!" In an attempt to turn a negative into a positive, I’ll journal the carnage for you all, reality tv style. At least it will be an intersting story.
Until then, here’s what floating around in the Canhead inbox:
To every hip-hop artist in America who make records about killing each other (who is that on the joint Flex was playing Monday night? Papoose?), these kids just flipped it on you. IFilm has this clip of a foreign hip-hop group’s video that has been banned in Norway. They call for the assassination of George Bush, and basically setting it off on America right now for foreign policy crimes and imperialism. The group, Gatas Parlament, released this video originally in 2004, but it is still making the internet email rounds and getting attention. If you haven’t seen this one, you should check it out.
~Rolling Stone has new live footage of T.I. performing, photos from SXSW 2005, U2’s tour launch and more at their website.
~Check out Waxy.org for the ill DJ DangerMouse “Grey” video. That’s what up! Ringo on the turntables and John floor rocking!
~Must have missed this one when I was redlining that 2005 Mustang on 24W heading to Cashville. Remember the part in Fahrenheit 9/11 where Michael Moore says that the US government secretly flew several Saudis out of America on 9/11. Remember how everyone said it was BS? Seems he was right. (Check O-Dub for link!)
Stay tuned.. Memphis Bleek interview is up next.

DVDs in the headrest

“MILES DAVIS - The Cool Jazz Sound”A while back I mentioned this, as I was expecting to receive a review copy thanks to Clint Weiler at Music Video Distributors. I was not expecting what I got. “Stars Of Jazz” is a DVD series featuring some of the greatest jazz legends of all time, from Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Billie Holiday, B.B. King and many more greats. The first feature is “The Sound of Miles Davis” .
The DVD features an 1959 episode of “The Robert Herridge Theater”. “The Sound of Miles Davis” is a 28 minute film, originally shot in 16mm black an white, so it has that authentic feel when watching it. Small effects like the light reflection off Miles’ horn that turns black also add a nice touch to the film. “The Sound of Miles Davis” features performances by the Miles Davis Quintet (Paul Chambers, Jimmy Cobb, John Coltrane, Davis and Wynton Kelly)as well as with the Gil Evans Orchestra.
This is a real cool DVD. The video clip of “Kind Of Blue” classic cut “So What” alone is worth the price of admission here. But with it’s glimpses at so many jazz heavyweights, working in a warm studio setting, performing "Blues for Pablo," "The Duke," and "New Rhumba", it is a must have for jazz fans in particular and music fans in general. I highly recommend this one.
~We go from one extreme to another~
Studioworks Entertainment presents: Yucko The Clown in “The Damn Show”

Oh boy. The sick part about reviewing this sh!t is that I asked for it. I mean I literally requested it. In case you don’t know this clown, it’s ok. He’s a loser. He is one of those guys you’ll hear on Howard Stern making an ass out of himself for free.(Kind of like me with this blog). This DVD is bad on so many levels I don’t know where to begin sh!tting on it first.
First of all, it’s low budget, like public access gone bad, super ghetto low budget. Too make sure that no one will respect it at all, they throw in as many racist and otherwise offensive jokes they can think of. I wont even bother trying to list them as the bottom line is this DVD is not funny.
They try to get that extreme humor thing going but it doesn’t work. Clint Black does a good job trying to be a edgy comic, but somehow this DVD just falls on it’s face. Maybe it was the dumb Snapple bottle skits and the Play-doh Sesame Street knock off, or maybe it was the painfully long Gooks of Hazard skit (A dildo headed cop chasing Asians playing Bo and Luke Duke, sounds funnier than it looks). No it was the use of homeless in skits that made fun of them and their mental problems and/or addictions. No, it was the Inebriated Koala cartoons. No, it was the Blind Date with a drug addicted prostitute. No no no... it was The Racist Mr. Ed skit that did it for me. You get my point yet?
I thought it might be a funny DVD, I think Yucko made me laugh once on Howard Stern. That was the last time that ass clown made me laugh, I’ll tell you that much. “The Damn Show” should be called the “Damned Show” because Yucko and the boys are on the VIP guest list in Hell for this one.
Oh yeah, this guy actually sent me a letter saying how lucky I was to get a copy of his DVD for free. The funny part is when he says that if I want an interview, not to call him, call Brian “My Balls Smell" Gross at ***-***-****. Don’t worry, I won’t call ya Yucko. Sorry Brian. Oh yeah, your DVD is in the mail coming back to you.
Example of racial humor used well.
Archie Bunker yelling at Edith when the Jeffersons barge in at midnight.."Edith will you do something, we're having a Harlem pajama party out here". That was funny. Yucko is just stupid.

TRILLVILLE’S “SOME CUT” SHOOTS UP THE CHARTS

BLAZIN’-HOT TRIO OUT OF LIL JON’S BME RECORDINGS CAMP SCORE A
MULTI-CHART BREAKTHROUGH WITH “SOME CUT” (FEATURING CUTTY)
NEW CD TRILLVILLE: RELOADED DUE IN THE SPRING
For Immediate Release
March 17, 2005
On the strength of breakthrough momentum resulting from a well
received, wildly popular video (a Top Ten Countdown entry on BET’s 106th &
Park, FULL rotation on MTV2, HEAVY rotation on BET’s Rap City, active play
on MTV, etc.) and enthusiastic radio spins (on everything from Urban
Mainstream and Top 40 Mainstream, to R&B Mainstream stations across the
country), steadily rising BME Recordings/Warner Bros. act TRILLVILLE
have snagged a multi-chart breakthrough with their latest smash hit, “Some
Cut” (featuring Cutty). TRILLVILLE – comprised of rappers Don P.,
Dirty Mouth and Lil L.A. – enjoys radio success with “Some Cut” as the
single has sprinted up The R&R Urban Mainstream Chart (#2), Hot R&B/Hip-Hop
Billboard Airplay Monitor chart (#2) and Rap Billboard Airplay Monitor
(#4 with a bullet).
Easily delivering on the promise of their debut hit, “Neva Eva” (culled
from their gold-certified The King Of Crunk & BME Recordings Present
Trillville & Lil Scrappy, the popular trio continue to make significant
career inroads – all while holding down a promotional tour schedule
that has included everything from interviews/performances on popular music
shows like MTV’s Direct Effect and BET’s Rap City, and culminating in
high-profile upcoming appearances on Soul Train, MTV’s Spring Break ’05
and BET’s Spring Break specials. “Some Cut” even resulted in a #3
slot on the Moviso MasterTone chart (compiled from the sales of
MasterTones on AT&T, Cingular, T-Mobile, Ringster Plus, Samsung FunClub and
Virgin Mobile).
Steadily snowballing into an outright rap phenomenon, TRILLVILLE’s
career has certainly come quite a way from the three Atlanta-reared grade
school friends with music career ambitions and the ambitious trio who
convinced Lil Jon to attend one of their sold-out local gigs, to their
current status as the “Gods of Crunk.” Not only does the apparent
widespread chart/radio success of “Some Cut” justify such a title, but it
paves the way and heightens the anticipation surrounding the spring
release of their new, full-length CD, Trillville: Reloaded. In the
meantime, it’ll be nearly impossible to avoid TRILLVILLE – not that any
crunk-lovin’ music fan would want to.

Canhead Inbox: "The New Guy"
Kevin Martin named new FCC chief
Free Press challenges new chairman to defend the public interest better than his predecessor
The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Kevin Martin will be named this week as the next chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, replacing Michael Powell. Robert W. McChesney, founder and president of the nonpartisan media reform group Free Press, made the following statement:
"Kevin Martin has not distinguished himself as a defender of the public interest during his tenure at the FCC. Too often, he has done the bidding of industry lobbyists and made decisions behind closed doors without public input. His new position presents a great opportunity to change course and instead listen to average citizens about the crucial policy decisions that will shape the future of the media and the Internet.
"While Martin won't face further Senate scrutiny in a confirmation hearing, much has changed since he was first appointed to the FCC in 2001. The FCC's infamous June 2003 ruling on media ownership - when Martin voted in favor of further concentration - awakened the public to the disastrous decisions being made in their name but without their consent. They will be watching the new chairman very closely.
"In the coming months and years, the FCC will not only revisit the ownership rules, but will make major decisions affecting broadband Internet access, community radio, and allocation of the public airwaves after the digital television transition. Martin faces a choice of whether to continue business as usual or follow the lead of FCC Commissioners Michael Copps and Jonathan Adelstein, who have convened numerous hearings nationwide to learn what Americans want out of their media system. If Martin and the majority at the FCC choose again to ignore the public, they will face an enormous backlash that will make 2003 look like a tiny ripple."

Lil Kim convicted of perjury
Rap diva Lil' Kim was convicted Thursday of lying to a federal grand jury to protect friends involved in a shootout outside a radio station.
Lil' Kim and her assistant were both convicted of perjury and conspiracy but acquitted of obstruction of justice. They each face up to 20 years in prison; sentencing was set for June 24.
The 29-year-old former sidekick and mistress of the late Notorious B.I.G., known for her revealing outfits and raunchy raps, testified that she did not notice two close friends at the scene of the 2001 shootout — her manager, Damion Butler, and Suif "Gutta" Jackson. Both men have since pleaded guilty to gun charges.
The jury saw radio station security photos showing Butler opening a door for Lil' Kim. And witnesses Antoine "Banger" Spain and James "Lil' Cease" Lloyd, who once teamed with Lil' Kim in the group Junior M.A.F.I.A, testified that Butler and Jackson were at the station with her.
Both defendants shook their heads as the verdicts were delivered. Lil' Kim's supporters broke out in sobs. After the verdict, when asked whether she had any comment, Lil' Kim shook her head.
The shootout occurred outside WQHT, a.k.a. Hot 97, when Lil' Kim's entourage crossed paths with a rival rap group, Capone-N-Noreaga. One man was injured as more than two dozen rounds were fired on the sidewalk.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Cathy Seibel told jurors that the 4-foot-11 rapper, referred to throughout the trial by her real name, Kimberly Jones, had repeatedly lied to them, just as she did to the grand jury.
"The testimony was preposterous. It was insulting. It was insulting to your intelligence. It was insulting to the judicial process," Seibel told jurors.
Seibel belittled the defense that the sunglasses-wearing Lil' Kim didn't notice two people she knew at the scene of the shootout.
"You would have to believe they were magic sunglasses that only block out your friends who were shooting people," Seibel said.
Defense lawyer Mel Sachs argued that Lil' Kim had no reason to protect Butler and Jackson because she had already eliminated them from her life.
Lil' Kim testified that after the shooting she had a falling out with Butler, Banger and Cease because they were freeloading at her New Jersey town house. She said she decided to cut off Butler completely after he caused a ruckus outside a video shoot with Phil Collins (news).
"I was just fed up," she said. "They were taking advantage of me."
The rapper also testified at length about her modest background and mercurial career, which began with an impromptu audition for B.I.G. on the street in their Brooklyn neighborhood.
Lil' Kim won a Grammy Award for her part in the hit remake of "Lady Marmalade" in 2001.
The shooting took place outside the same station where the posses of 50 Cent and The Game traded bullets last week. No arrests have been made in that shooting, which left one of Game's henchmen wounded in the leg

~Q Got Jokes ~
50 Cent gives Snoop a handmade sweat suit. What does Snoop say to 50?
G-U Knit?
(I stole that joke from The Redneck Silent One in Ravena!)
Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.
The first man had married a woman from Tennessee and bragged that he had told his wife she was going to do all the dishesand house cleaning.
He said it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were done.
The second man had married a woman from Florida.
He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to doall the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. On that the firstday he didn't see any results, but the next day it wasbetter. By the third day, his house was clean, the disheswere done and he had a huge dinner on the table.
The third man married a girl from New Jersey.
He told herthat her dutieswere to keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal.
He said the first day he didn't see anything,
the second day he didn't see anything
but by the third day most of theswelling had gone down
and he could see a little out of his left eye;
enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher and telephone a landscaper.
Gotta love those Jersey girls.
I'm out!

Keep Rising To The Top
This is a late one, but still good news for The King OF The South. Taken from Atlantic press release:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ------------------------------------MARCH 9, 2005
RIAA BRINGS OUT THE PLATINUM FOR T.I. "URBAN LEGEND" CERTIFIED AS
"BRING EM OUT" CROSSES OVER TO POP RADIO & "U DON'T KNOW ME" EXPLODES AT URBAN OUTLETS; NELLY TOUR KICKS OFF NEXT WEEK
"URBAN LEGEND," the chart-topping album from Grand Hustle/Atlantic recording artist T.I., has been certified platinum by the RIAA for U.S. sales in excess of one million units. T.I.'s second label release, "URBAN LEGEND" made an explosive debut upon its release last November premiering in the #1 spot on Billboard's "Top R&B/Hip-Hip Albums" chart and in the #7 spot on the Billboard 200. Now in its fourth month on the national charts, "URBAN LEGEND" remains in the top five this week on the R&B/Hip-Hop list.
"URBAN LEGEND" has thus far spawned a pair of smash singles. The first, "Bring Em Out," hit the top five at Urban radio and the top ten at CHR/Rhythmic outlets. The single is now making major inroads at CHR/Pop radio, ranking as the #1 "New & Active" track on this week's R&R chart.
Meanwhile, the album's second single, "U Don't Know Me," has already bulleted into the top ten at Urban and into the top 15 at CHR/Rhythmic. The companion video is in Heavy rotation at BET, where it is the #1 most-played video of the week. T.I. is being featured in a string of BET programs, including "106 & Park" (where he performed live on March 2nd), "Access Granted," "Rap City," "BET Style," and "Rip The Runway." The "U Don't Know Me" video is also in Big Ten rotation on MTV, and is enjoying major play on MTV2, MTV Jams - where it is in "Blazin'" rotation, and Fuse - where it is "Oven Fresh."
Coinciding with the success of "URBAN LEGEND," T.I. is getting ready to hit the road with Nelly. The two-month itinerary, which will play major venues from coast to coast, is set to get underway on March 18th and wrap up on May 21st. Also on the bill will be T.I.'s Atlantic labelmate Fat Joe.
In the online world, T.I. has performed for Sessions@AOL, the exclusive program of AOL-produced in-studio performances and interviews. His live performance has been among the Top 10 most played on AOL Music. T.I. has also performed for Rolling Stone Originals, where the audio is available for download and streaming via REAL and Rhapsody. On the wireless front, T.I. continues to have top-selling ringtones across a number of Atlantic's wireless partners.
"URBAN LEGEND" has been winning press raves and major media coverage since its release. Most recently, T.I. garnered the spring cover of Trace magazine and will be featured on the May cover of XXL.
"URBAN LEGEND" finds the Atlanta-based rap sensation joined by a crew of special guests, including Pharrell, Nelly, Lil' Kim, Trick Daddy,Lil Jon, Lil Wayne, Jazze Pha, and others. The album is the follow-up to T.I.'s breakthrough 2003 Grand Hustle/Atlantic premiere, "TRAP MUZIK," which included the hits "24's," "Rubber Band Man," and "Let's Get Away." In addition to the original "URBAN LEGEND," an entirely remixed version of the album - "URBAN LEGEND: CHOPPED AND SCREWED BY PAUL WALL" -was released last month. For this special release, the set was completely retooled by acclaimed underground mixmaster Paul Wall, incorporating the psychedelic sound of "screw" to create an all-new musical experience.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, according to Billboard, 2Pac, Loyal to the Game is in the platinum selling club as of Feb 15th.
Pac and Heather Hunter(?) during happier times.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to Jada, 50 Cent did 1.1 million in a short week with The Massacre . I don't have any info to back that up, but I'll take homies word.
You gonna back that thing up or should I push up on it?
John Legend and X to the the Zibit are both at gold as of Feb. 15th for Get Lifted and Weapons of Mass Destruction(I need to get new numbers without paying Billboard a grip..any suggestions?)
Wait..theres a recoup clause for the "Ordinary" video?
Somebody call my manager!
Oh yeah, my girlfriend just cleared 10 Million with Feels Like Home . Love you baby!
UGHH! This mic stinks..was Biz Markie doing the beatbox with my mic again!

"D.O.D. is in the building!"
It has been a long week for your boy Q. Without going into too much detail, let’s just say that it’s on right now. Wednseday was off the hook and will be discussed later. For now lets rewind to<<
Thursday 10th :<< Miami is around the corner and I’m still not sure what I’m doing, I have yet another big interview lined-up for next week, a DVD review that sitting on my desk waiting to get destroyed (It is not going to be pretty…you’ll see), and on top that, Do or Die are supposed to call me any minute now to do an interview. As I am trying to hook up the usb microphone to record my speaker phone, it rang. On the other line was my new Cornerstone Promotions hook up, Dani Lovett, with the Chi-Town heavyweights.
Mind you, I am a rookie to this freelance journalism thing, so of course I was a bit nervous in speaking to Belo, AK, and N.A.R.D. I wanted to record the interview and post an mp3 online for you all to hear. The speaker phone idea was a bad look. Soon as I switched over and hit record, the computer froze. I’m still not sure what that was about, but now not only couldn’t I record, my question were on a Word document, on the now frozen computer. So I had to ditch it, and pick up the handset and freestyle it. With that small hurdle out of the way, I kicked it a minute with one of the game’s finest groups. I may be new to blogging and journalism, but I am an old school head in this rap game. For those of you who are unaware of the importance of these brothers, let me break it down for you real quick.
D.O.D. has sold more than 3 million albums during their career. With their hip-hop classic “Po Pimp” they helped establish themselves and Chicago in hip-hop’s landscape. They would go on to record 5 more albums and with their distinctive style they brought a smoothed out feel to “gangsta” rap. They also spit game so fast you might not catch what they are saying. It’s no wonder, as they along with Chi-Town legend Twista, pioneered the rapid fire flow Midwest style that has been imitated and duplicated by many. Listening to emcees from east and west coast alike and you will hear many use the rapid flow, from Jay-Z’s Big Pimpin, Busta Rhymes, and Mystikal are just a few who have ripped it. But D.O.D. got it locked down. They prove in on their new album.
The new album has some major heat, starting with the already classic “Higher” with Kanye. There are many strong radio cuts on here. “Magic Chick” is already doing it thing on BET and radio. They told me about their “Magic Chick” nationwide contest where some lucky lady will win $5,000, a upcoming Magic Chick calendar, DVD, and upcoming tour. That alone would keep The Legion’s promotional team busy for a while, but the album has much more heat to promote.
Kanye delivers another radio ready hit with the bouncy “Paid The Price”, “If You Only Knew” with Twista and Syleena Johnson is another one that will fit real nice in the mid day radio lineup. “Be Alright” with Ric Jilla and Johnny P. sounds like it should be the theme song of a Sunday morning good news PBS show, with its uplifting Phyllis Hyman styled pianos and backup vocals, AK, N.A.R.D. and Belo gives hip-hop another feel good classic. As if that wasn’t enough, D.O.D. linked up with your boy DJ Quik for “Church”. The CD also includes Remy Ma, Johnny P, Malik Yusef, Grind Traxster Trump, and DTP’s Shawwnna on the “Higher” remix. Oh yeah, OG Max Juilen aka “Goldy” drops in for a few interludes just to even it out. This album has some heat.
Back to the phone conversation. D.O.D. also said to look out for their upcoming DVDs, and clothing company “Po Pleasure” coming late summer. They have big things planned for the upcoming year, and I wanted to go in depth on them all, but knew I wasn’t recording any of it, as my computer was still frozen. So I thanked them for their time and did like Dave said, wrapped it up B! Then Dani mentioned a party Friday night at Babaloos. She said she’d put me on the list plus one and I could swing through and holla at everyone. I said peace and that was that.
So Friday night I pull up to Babalos(remember, I live in Albany) hit the door, tell the girl at the door that I’m on the list and she says “oh no your not! Jigga what list? Jigga Q who? What’s a Canhead?” 15 minutes and $40 dollars later, I was at the bar getting a drink. It was alright tho’ I expected as much, club courtesy isn’t what it used to be in NYC.
The place had a nice crowd, Washington Height Promotions (or something like that(?) did their thing, and everyone was just coolin’. D.O.D. hit the stage late in the night, had to be like 2 am. They started with “Po Pimp” and for me it was the first time I heard that joint in a club since like 1990 something. Those 808s sound good as ever.
They also rocked “Higher , “Magic Chick” and some other joint that was tight as hell but I didn’t know. D.O.D. did their thing rocking the small crowd that braved the snow and the girl at the door. (I’m saying ma…….no..no SHE works for Cornerstone, not me…….I’m here for the D.O.D. party….not P.O.D,…D.O.D……I’m a writer….no…..a WRITER…..fuck it, I’ll pay) You can tell that their style might be a bit to fast for some New York heads tho’, as some cats were feeling it, but just standing there. D.O.D. might have to do like E-40 says, slow it down so the squares can understand it or set it off in club that will get it crunk. (ps I know a spot up here in Albany that would be perfect)
About 30 minutes after the show, as I was standing right next to VIP wondering what Dani Lovett looks like, I realized N.A.R.D. was sitting right next to me. I said peace to him (I think it was him, it was him or AK) and told him I would holla when the story was done. I don’t think he actually heard me, it was loud in the spot and I got that Barry White voice thing going on. But it was a good night all in all.
To make a long story short, cop that new D.O.D. album, catch them on tour, check the links below, and tell them Q.Rock639 sent you. Much props to Dani and the Cornerstone crew for the hookup and Belo, AK, N.A.R.D for choppin it up with me!

The Red Pill aka The Examined Life

aka "You have a problem with authority Mr. Anderson" aka "The cubicle next to you is empty."
The Matrix is one of my favorite films. For the record, I took the red pill years ago. I know this means nothing to anyone but me right now, but it does mean something, ya dig? Peace to everyone taking the red pill.
Favorite Matrix quotes:
Morpheus: This is your last chance. After this, there is no going back.
Morpheus: You have to understand that many people are not ready to be unplugged, and many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it.
Neo: Why do my eyes hurt?
Morpheus: You've never used them before.
Morpheus: Welcome to the desert of the real.
Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Spoon boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?
Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.
True dat Spoon boy, true dat.
