One Session: More than "Just Alright"

Bobby B Presents...The Hidden Treasures vol. 1


Looking at CD cover, you may not think One Session packs a punch. The simple black artwork of “Bobby B presents The Hidden Treasures Vol. 1” features former members of Da Nayborhoodz, Minus One, Cringe and Tristate, minus the usual attire and bling. Together they form as One Session, and this is one session that you won’t forget anytime soon! The modest, straightforward packaging does not show the true thump power that is inside this CD.

Their style is a mixture of the Suburban Noize hip-hop rock flow, but this release pops a little harder for the streets, with scratches and cuts flying in from left and right, provided by DJ Bobby B! The combination of the three emcees results in a banging first CD. Cuts like “I Need You” featuring Tease are so next level that it’s hard to describe. You just have to hear them. While this is the the first CD from One Session, it is a hell of way to introduce themselves to the world.

There are quite a few standout cuts on this one, and you might even find yourself a new favorite song. It might be the synthed out Cali vibe of “We Back” that gets you, or maybe the acoustic guitar fueled, power collabo track “Get Cash” featuring Johnny Richter. There’s no way you can sleep on songs like “HardHop”, “If This Were” or the radio ready banger “Just All Right”. One Session brings a few friends to the party too. Paradox gets busy on “This Side” and “Jungle Eyes”, Champagne Finesse clowns and helps mack it out in “Bearskin Rug”, and former “Road To Stardom” contestant B-Rhaka brings much needed light to “Change Things”. Big B ,Hannah B, Dirtball, Judge D and Dirtball also appear on “Hidden Treasures” and One Session holds DJ Bobby B.’s down on this one! Every element and style of music is tossed in , blended to a sonic perfection, and blasted out in stereo! The CD is in stores now and I suggest you cop that!

Peace to the CEB crew for another night of pure hip hop! The live heat was provided by El Da Sensei, Oh No, DJ Romes, Med and Roc C, Aspect and Middle Men, but the DJ Romes-J Dilla tribute was extra nice. The B-Boys were in full effect as the breakers circle expanded and kept the vibe true while Dilla's beats banged lovely in the air. Nice with Henny, no ice, and my lady sippin on some white wine, by my side, noddin' to the drums. The night was so peace that we forgot to do any work like take pictures and shit. My bad. I do have some older pics of alot of the same B-Boys that were in the spot Sunday night, and I will be posting them soon so stay tuned!!

Currently serving the rest of his term and looking forward to a release within the next two to three months, Cassidy provided the following statement regarding the recent turn of events via his defense attorney, Fortunato Perri:

"While I am pleased that I was cleared of the murder charges, my satisfaction is not long-lasting, because of the death of someone who I considered to be my friend, Des Hawkins. And while I am eager to resume my career as a recording artist, writer and performer, I am also eager to be reunited with my family, friends, and fans. I too share the important message stated in court by Des's dad, who urged all parents to love their children, and to be there for them. As the father of a young child myself, spending much time on the road and in the studio, away from home, I am relieved that I will soon be home for family and my career."

Upon his release, Cassidy will head back into the studio with producer-extraordinaire and CEO of Full Surface Records, Swizz Beatz, to record what is destined to be one of the most poignant recordings of Cassidy's burgeoning career.

"I'd like to first thank radio and all of his fans for their love and support during this time, and let everyone know that when Cassidy gets out, do not expect us to promote this situation as a cocky and violent situation, but as a blessed situation," says Swizz Beatz. "Cass will continue to make great music, but in a positive way, educating the youth that violence is never the answer. We'll do the rest of the talking with the music."

What's the word party people? The holidaze are finally over, and the new year is here. Hope you all had fun and made it on the new side in one piece. I'm still here, doing my thing, hustling day and night, trying to make a dollar outta fifteen pennies. So far it's working. For that alone, I am grateful. I am also grateful for all the new friends and connections I have made out here in sunny California, as well as my family and friends scattered all over the world for always being there. Hope this year bring us all happiness and blessings.

Things are moving along according to plan here at the compound. Topanga Soap Company continues to win new customers and the website has been tweaked and fine tuned. Our product line can now be found at The Dock-Downtown, LA Mart, online at The Beauty Drawer, as well as own home site. LiveStream LA.com came out the gate swinging and landed some hot video performance exclusive from RZA, Psycho Realm, DJ Muggs vs GZA. Big things are in store for the new year so stay tuned to the fastest growing music streaming website out of Los Angeles. Headshots Entertainment and Godz Inc. are both constantly in the lab, working on the next masterpiece. With the release of Prodigal Sunn's latest CD, "The Return Of The Prodigal Sun" in stores now, both P and B. Original have their eyes set on 2006 and are getting ready. B-Original released his mix CD, "Code Red Mixtape" this year and the next one is sure to be that fire! Be on the look-out for the Prodigal Sunn mixtape soon and the new website Tims And Brims.com!
