If you see Prodigal in person, the first thing that you'll notice is that he isconstantly moving. Even though he has a signed deal with a label andhas a gold record on his list of achievements, that doesn't stop him fromputting in work himself. You may catch him in your neighborhood with a boxof CDs in hand, meeting the people and showing love from state to state. The Dogg Pound Gangsta is joined by his homie Kurupt and the two are about to release their latest CD, "Dillinger &Young Gotti". They handed 50 advance copies of the CD to Los Angeles' New KDAY, 93.5 FM, that will be giving away at their Halloween Bash at World On Wheels. The rest of us will have to wait until November 1st to
hear it.

DVD’s In The Headrest-Slip-N- Slide Triple Feature!

Get your beach gear ready, ladies and gentlemen! We’re heading to sunny Miami for this DVD review triple feature! Nothing’s hotter than the Florida sun and hip-hop, and we get a triple threat treat from Slip-N-Slide Records! The weather may be getting ugly in Florida right now, but these three DVDs may help die hard hip-hop fans weather the storm and remind them of warmer days.




























Setting off the triple play matinee is “Slip-N-Slide Records Memorial Day Weekend”. Originally shot in 2001, the video features Trick Daddy, Trina, and the Slip-N-Slide camp running through Miami during the spring party season. The DVD is uncensored so you know its raw! Definitely not for the timid. Fans of Trina get to see her nice and up-close, cursing out the police, and rocking the stage! The Baddest Bitch is also seen filming her video and performing.




Trick narrates the DVD while getting his hair braided. He tells us why Trina was the baddest bitch since waaay back, as they cut back and forth to concert performances of “Nann” that has to been seen! The DVD also features Tre-6, Duece Poppi aka The Black Richard Nixon, Funk Boogie, behind the scene footage of “I’m A Thug” video, a celebrity basketball game, and exclusive footage from club Rollexx. (You need a wide screen for this!) The boys hit the famous strip club and it’s all on film! The girls dance in a boxing ring, Trick gets lap dances, and it’s back to the lab as the DVD ends.

Next up is “Slip-N-Slide presents Trick Daddy Uncut”. We go backstage with Trick Daddy and get a closer look at his life. CO and Money Mark host the flick from their couch. After they prep you on the MIA lingo, the story begins. We see Trick at work in his Tee Double D Studios, and follow him to the club after that to catch a performance. In the middle of the DVD we get a short clip of some bikers getting busy at “Area 51”. The Anaconda has the ill snake skin bike smoking down the empty lot, working the 12 o’clock bar on the back. Not sure why it's here, but it's nice footage regardless.


Next the guys go the extra mile and film the Slip and Slide caper. Once the ice is restocked, the show continues with Trick Daddy taking it to the house onstage. After the DJ loses a bet, we hit 99 Jamz in Miami with Trick for an interview. From there it’s on to an underground radio station for more interviews. After a hard day of work, we head back to Club Rollexx for a night cap. Next up is a behind the scene look at the filming of the “In The Wind” video. Cee-Lo, Big Boi, Slim Calhoun, Jazzy Pha and Big Gipp are featured in the shots. The story ends well as TDD finds the evil bootlegger and saves the day. The Dirty South Raw & Uncut is the final DVD in the series, and the title alone should warn you of impending nakedness and multiple booty shots ahead! Filmed again in sunny Miami, the camcorders are out in full force as models, strippers and various women show 'em what they got!
The first half of the DVD feels like a Girls Gone Wild movie with Dirty South Hip-Hop backing it. I aint mad though’, as Gloria Velez & Dirty Red's interviews alone make it more than worth it. “Dirty South Raw & Uncut” gives you just what the title says. The behind the scene interviews with strippers talking shop in their natural enviroment (ie. naked in the dressing room), gives the video a Hip Hop/Real Sex documentary feel.

"The Dirty South Raw & Uncut" features appearances by JT Money, Luke, 2 Live Crew, Sole, Uncle Al, 69 Boyz and many more. Miami artist are seen defining what bass music is. They know you look at them with disgust when you seen the booties shaking. They know the haters are out there. They all still manage to get the world crunk! This DVD shows how and why, with a steady unflinching eye, and a nice parental advisory sticker for the kids and everything! The behind the scenes story with the 2 Live Crew makes this one a must have.


Final Verdict-Slip-N-Slide Triple Features=Too Hot For TV!

W hats the word party people?


Not much on tap today, just going thru emails and getting ready for the week ahead. If you were out and about in LA last weekend, you may have seen your boy Q at the DJ Muggs/GZA show in Hermosa Beach. GZA and Muggs rocked the small but packed club for about a half hour, while the crowd basked in the hip-hop glory of the night. Except for a few fools who looked like they were smoking that water, the crowd was well behaved and showed nothing but love to Muggs and GZA. Self Scientific rocked it as well, going into his underground hits, “The Return” and more. Not a bad night all in all. (Don’t ask about the parking lot ruckus with one time, after the show)

Next week looks busy as hell, so pardon if the posts come up slower than usual. Stay tuned for DVD reviews, show announcements and some new music outta the lab!

Magic Bus This!

Time flies when you’re having fun in the LA sun. Can you believe it’s already been six months since your favorite blogger moved to the west side?!? I love my new home and everything, but you guys in LA have to get it together.

Los Angeles is a nutty ass town, and anyone who isn’t blinded from all the star gazing and opted to live a life of backing instead of FRONTING knows what I'm sayin'.


I found myself walking up and down Beverly Blvd today, looking for this office I had an appointment at. The anger that this trip brought out of my usually cool temperament, can’t be measured by modern day scales. I mean, really. It’s got me babbling on my blog and sharing personal horror stories instead of focusing on showing off my PR skills. What should hav etaken 2 hours mx, took me ALL DAY to do. I apologize to you guys, but Uncle Q has to vent. To even it out, I’ll drop some tracks in-between the bitch sessions.

So what’s up with LA bus drivers? I know LA caters to the ballers, shot callers, fast cars and has been stars, but there are hundreds of us still on the grind in these mean streets. There are even more of us who are forced to take the bus after un-official parking violations tows their car and wants over $500 to get it back after 3 days. (that’s gangsta) But I digress. Metro bus drivers are really on one. Someone needs to tell Metro to hold some sensitivity courses, teach their drivers to fall back and treat the customer with some Rodney Dangerfield respect!

I give it 2 outta 5, whatever that means.

Today, I called up Metro and asked them how to get to my destination in West LA. I would have searched in online but for some odd reason, SBC didn't have their shit together this morning and the DSL was out. Needless to say, Metro still got it all messed up. First they give me the wrong bus number, and since they didn’t have that right, the bus arrival times were way off. After waiting for a bus that was never going to come, I hoped on the next thing smoking and got moving.

Being the true Gemini asshole that I am, I say” Do you mean the dingy dirt line right there, cuz there is NO yellow line at all.” Angry bus-driver looks at me and says, “Sir, please don’t antagonize me while I’m driving the bus.” What?

He then looks at me and says, “I don’t know.” WHAT? “What do you mean, you don't know?” I ask, as my inner Bruce Banner’s brown eyes start to slowly turn green. “I mean it’s not my job to know where your stop is, you should know where you’re going!”

It seems that when a bus driver is ahead of schedule, he will pull over and wait, so as not to screw up the timing. I find this odd, as I always either have to wait forever, or just miss a bus. I am not the only one who found this stopping to wait for time to catch up thing completely absurd. Victim #2 steps up and ask why the bus has stopped. Angry Bus driver looks at him with contempt and strts the tale of time reversal at the empty bus stop. V#2 explains that he is also on a schedule, and needs to get to his destination. The bus driver tells him, “You’re too impatient, if you just wait a minute, we will be on our way”. V#2, speechless at the thought of how hard he has just been owned in public, murks his way to the back of the bus, picking up his face the entire way.

And of course, the fucking bus did not tell me when my stop was coming up, and as it wizzed past my stop at Mach 5, I pull the little bus stop cord, and watch as the driver goes for another 3 blocks before stopping.

Just like when the parking violations guy tried to explain to me how he can “work” for the city, without actually working for the city, and why it’s possible for my car to get towed, and LAPVB have NO idea why or where my hooptie is.

Just like the same LAPVB guy telling me about downtown LA’s terrible parking situation, while I’m standing on a quarter mile strip, with NO CARS PARKED ON EITHER SIDE!

Just like the lady at my appointment today, forgetting to tell me that there are 4 different buildings with their same address on her street and she was about 5 miles south of where angry bus driver finally dropped me off.

Madness……sheer madness!


Just like how it took me 3 months to get a phone line installed in my BUSINESS office, because the building manager is too cheap to pay to replace the burnt out phone lines in the building, and basically getting me caught up in un-ending back and forth volley between building management and SBC. The only reason I’m online now is because I went back to my New York days and paid somebody to come in and “fix” my problem, on some under the table type shit.

Just like the last time I was on the bus, I swear to Jah himself, a old lady was speed walking to the bus, about a block away. I get on the bus and the driver starts to take off. I tell him, “Yo, there’s a old lady trying to catch the bus!” as he pulls off. He looks at me with a ill ice grill stare and says, “I bet she’ll catch the next one.” True story.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the point. No? Well, let me put it like this, LA is a great place, but it sucks. No other way to say it. I love the place, but gaddamn! What’s next, Earthquake tax, every time the earth moves, you gotta come outta pocket? Parking only for those who pay extra and have city permits for it….opps...they already DO THAT!

I don’t know…….I’m tired and LA has put me in a foul ass mood today. The Kush can’t even change my mood. It’s like that! But no matter what happens, Q always gets the last laugh! Peace to Larry Strickland, I never knew you, but I miss you brother!

Really Really Good 10 (The Friendz Edition)

I got nothing but love for ya, as we round the corner here at Really Really Good! Through all the tough guy posturing and whaddamattauuuz I have been known to toss about the internet, I do try to right, rite, and write really really good for you, you and you, my internet obsessed online family and friends. It feels good when I see that you, my friends are still there, cheering for the home team. With that said, I hereby dub the, La Friends Edition, served with a generous amount of whine to accompany the cheese.

While reading books with topics like Electronic Marketing may not be the most exciting time spent, it is time well spent. This book offers small business owners a multitude of ideas, tips, and webpage links on low cost methods of online promotions of your business. Tom Antion had written an excellent resource for online entrepreneurs, and everyone should be able to increase their own marketing visibility by simply following the tips listed. The only problem is, if you have been actively involved in your website for a significant period of time, you may already know the tricks that are revealed.

For example, the first chapter defines common knowledge items such as AOL, sub domains, ISP addresses, and web hosting services. Maybe I’m jaded, but I would think that everyone already knows what a search engine is, and shouldn't have to buy a book with that defines it again. However, those who don’t have a clue will find this type of information invaluable, and very easily explained by Antion.

Once the WWW 101 course is over, the book becomes more interesting with chapters like “The Mechanics of Website Sales” and “How To Create and Distribute a Kickbutt Electronic Magazine.” With all the advice that Tom Antion has written in “Electronic Marketing for Small Business”, I’ll have topics of conversation and tech tips for Really, Really Good for a really, really long time.

The Ultimate Guide to Electronic Marketing for Small Business = absolutely necessary!
Make sure this is on your bookshelf, preferably close to the computer, especially if it’s your first time doing business online.
